Totally disagree here. The Jets have a passionate fan base that keeps spending money on the team despite a decade of futility that has mostly followed decades of futility. I think objectively the Jets have one of the best fan bases in all of professional sports. Very few teams are fortunate enough to have fans willing to put up with extreme disappointments year after year.
you can pick multiple - sorry I missed off ownership - I was just writing them as they came to me and then I ran out of options - sadly so many things about this team suck that it's hard to keep it to a reasonable number
I made this point the other day and someone quoted it back to me arguing the point so they are still out there!
The chronic losing seasons. The false hope. It's particularly demoralizing when the other cellar dwellers your Lions, Jags climb out of the basement. Meanwhile the Jets and their fans are still stuck in neutral continually waiting for our day in the sun.
This is cyclical though. A generation ago it was the Lions, the Browns and the Cards stuck in the basement year after year and the Jets clawing out to respectability for a change. The bottom feeders tend to stay the bottom feeders because the reason they are there is flawed ownership. However a team can escape briefly if a powerful enough change is made somewhere in the structure. Then the power enabler goes away and everything reverts back to the status quo, which is flawed ownership sinks teams.
Oh...I am a no tanker.... While I understand the argument the competitive part of me can't do lose on purpose
What is scary in your scenario Brad, is that when Woody passes, we're gonna be stuck with an even bigger Idiot in Chris Johnson.
I'd say its the QB position being a total train wreck - It's hard to watch this team when you're expecting the worst everytime we snap the ball. It's not just that we've busted out on every QB draft pick we've made but we haven't even leavened in a year or two of just regular, normal , competent Daltonesque play at the position. Mike White is probably not going to win us the VLT but he's actually a QB who can play at this level and that means I can watch a decent NFL game from start to finish without hopping channels.
