What do you guys think is the worst player move? __ Personally, I try to keep up with my Jets history and even now, I still think letting John Riggins go in free agency is the worst player move the franchise ever made. The Sanchez extension and the Tebow trade are both good candidates. For me, trading a first for Doug Jolley is still the worst. Edit: Oakland parlayed that pick, 26th overall, into the 23rd pick and acquired Fabian Washington, while Chris Spencer (C) ended up being picked at 26 by Seattle. That year, the Jets drafted future HOFers Mike Nugent and Justin Miller in the second round.
Which would be worse for the Jets? Losing Wilkerson if we can't re-sign him or signing him to a $100 million dollar 6 year extension with $40 million in guarantees?
The move I think is most likely to qualify when compared to the Riggins fiasco is the huge contract the Jets gave to Neil O'Donnell in 1996. 1-15 after that.
I remember thinking it happening around April 1st, and thinking it was a joke. Gotta admit, Jolley is kind of a trolly name, right?

The Tebow trade is minor in the history of the franchise. All it cost them was a 4th round pick for a failed experiment. Hardly the worst player move the Jets have ever made. Not even the worst if we have to focus on the last 5 years only!
