CB and oline ------------------------ Mangold has been boss this season, winters and colon have been terrible. The cb's get the advantage of having the best dline in the game, and still consistently get burned.
Worst aspect this season has been the Offensive Line. I was hoping 2015 could be used to fill up the holes left over from this past offseason. However, Guard has become more than a need it's gotta be one of the highest priorities for 2015. No matter who plays QB, or whatever receiver is added, this OL needs some serious upgrade. We all know LT & C needed some upgrading in a couple years, so Idzik should solidify the other spots in the meantime. Second biggest pain has been the decline of this secondary. Can't believe I'm saying this but the Jets should strongly consider CB in the early rounds for next draft.
Dude, are you even watching the games? Richardson is still great against the run, the reason teams are having more success running on us lately is because our secondary is so bad, Rex is putting most of the defense in pass protection, so there is no one to stop running backs once the D-Line eats up blockers. But in terms of pass rushing, Richardson has improved tremendously from last year. Last year he was almost a non-factor in this area, and this year he is ranked something like 4th in the league among 3-4 DEs. 3 sacks already, a lot of QB hits, hurries, pressures, and that doesn't even give him justice. How many holds on the Broncos offensive line were called today on the guys holding him? Whenever I see Wilkerson, Pace, or Douzable get a sack, I usually see Richardson being double teamed on that play. I might be wrong on this, but I think opposing defenses are actually focusing on blocking him more than Wilkerson. And I still think he is getting by mostly on his athleticism, quickness and natural power. Wait until he starts using technique and swim/rip/spin moves later on in his career. I really think our O-Line is better than people think and that a big reason why it looks so bad is because of bad QB play. Watching all these good QBs we've been facing lately, they do a lot of things to make their O-Lines look better. They scramble effectively in a lot of cases, they read the defensive scheme before the snap and adjust their protection schemes, picking up blitzes or helping out O-Linemen in difficult situations. They utilize dump-offs and punish blitzers by throwing the ball to safety valves in the blitzer's abandoned area. They step up in the pocket when they feel pressure. They make difficult throws under pressure while remaining calm and accurate. Geno doesn't do any of those things on a consistent basis. He is just as unable to deal with blitzes as he was last year, and pressure completely rattles him, making him absolutely ineffective. Winters I feel like has been pretty bad, but everyone else on the O-Line would probably look pretty good with a decent QB.
We have the same problems we have had for last 3 seasons,I don't get why its so hard to sign some playmakers, management is a fucking joke
3 way tie between Geno, the O line, and the secondary. They're all so atrocious that it really makes it too tough a choice to pick one
the worst part is the realization that we are being run(idzik) by a complete moron who has no business in running a franshise. until our gm is fired we will never have success....never.
There should be a virtual bell that goes off every time the word in bold is used on a TGG post. Speaking of Geno's regression, he played pretty well today.
I think the Jets do need to start looking to the future for both of their spots, however I'd say they are still leaps and bounds better than the other three boobs. Don't like seeing players get hurt, but Winters getting injured might be addition by subtraction with the way he has played this season.
I agree with the bold they've shot themselves in the foot with bad execution, turnovers and penalties.
bad, but 6-10 is not rock bottom.this year has much greater potential for that. last year was suppose to be that.
