I'm a lot more excited to see Miller return than Stuckey. I wasn't ever that impressed with Stuckey. As for Miller, just think about him and Leon both waiting to return the kick. You either have to kick to one of them and take your chances, kick it out of the end zone, or kick it short. No matter what, we wind up with an average starting field position of at least the 20. You can't underestimate the potential of those two both returning kicks together.
I think we will see this year that Westhoff was the real hero of the special teams that made Miller and Washington seem better than they actually are.
I personally cant wait to see both miller and washington back there to return kicks. Teams are going to ish themselves seeing those two back there. I think Miller would have broke the record (kick off returned for td in one season) last year if he was healthy his speed is uncanny hopefully the hammy/knee doesnt effect that too much. A lot of people were high on Stuckey during TC last year. I didnt see much of him other that the preseason games. Hopefully he can stay healthy and be a viable #3. I know there is a lot of hopefully going on in this post, but what can i say i have been a jet fan my whole life........*sigh*
Actually, with both of them back there it really will be making kickers and coaches think. Pooch it or try to kick it close to the boundary lines. We could be the recipients of a lot of out of bounds kicks which is not a bad deal.
Miller was a big factor in our sucess in 2006, he gave us fantastic field position, now ok Leon is more agile but goes down on contact, miller is a beast, I was depressed when he got injured, and he was a pro bowl returner, leon was not, if miller continues where he left off, and our special teams keeps it up we will dominant next season, with the way we are stacking this team, and be like 06 starting every drive on the 40, OMG I cant wait.
Don't be depressed. In Miller's Pro Bowl year, he had a 28.3 yd return average with two TDs while last year, Washington had a 27.4 yd average with three TDs.
I don't know, i guess we'll see but can you find me one KR over the last two years where the KR did anything special other than running fast through a huge hole created by the blocking?
My problem with Miller is at cornerback. The guy has never been a very good, or even passable starter in coverage. Last offseason we finally heard Mangini praise the kid in TC, and then he gets hurt for the entire season. I find it quite a bit of a stretch to expect him to come in and start at the position like some other people seem to be readily expecting. He's been OFF THE FOOTBALL FIELD FOR AN ENTIRE SEASON. Whatever progress he made last offseason was made last offseason. I think anybody expecting him to come in and surprise everyone and start opposite Revis is fooling themselves.
