Don't waste your time trying to reason with the "doomsday fan". Most, I repeat most not all, of the geniuses are posters that come around to vent their pearls of widsom solely after a loss. There are 1/2 the amount of posters and most of them are regulars when the Jets win. I would have respect or even maybe entertain the thought of replying to these geniuses, if they could on a regualr basis bring some insight to the table after a win. Maybe discuss some issues not just post and run...... :jets:
Of course the season isn't over but expectations for everyone just plummeted because we lost to the worst team in the NFL outside of KC (who we have next week ironically enough).
i was very glad to see Jones for run for 150+ yards. but the fact is he couldn't run when we really needed it, in the red zone.
If I remember correctly, it was a 4 Man Rush that cost us the game in Overtime. I'll stick to the 3 Man Rush, with Jenkins pushing the middle and Ellis coming off the end for the pressure.
I don't think people are giving up, but expectations are definitely lowered. We are not going to win the division, and we probably can't even make the playoffs. It's maybe 40% shot at making it. Beating the Raiders would have had us at 4-2, and with momentum, so we'd be walking into Buffalo at 5-2 and a shot at a tie atop the AFCE. It's tough to make up games, you can't expect Buffalo to just stumble like we do. They'll actually beat the bad teams, they did beat the bad teams actually. You can't run the table if you're not going to take games seriously, you can't even get the 7 game win streaks a top team usually reels off sometime during their season. I don't see us ever winning 4 in a row even, we'll be lucky to win 2 then lose 1 each time the rest of the way out. That puts us anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6, and either just barely making a WC or missing it.
All you eternal optimists are really just fooling yourselves. You need to take off your green colored glasses and get realistic. The problem we have as fans is that we expect this team to go beat the raiders, and take care of business when we are supposed to. The issue is that this team has shown us NOTHING for us to have that kind of mentality. We can hope we win and beat lesser teams, but this team and coaching staff has never proved that they can do it. We were 4-12 last year, bought a bunch of talent, and we're still 3-3...EXPECT NOTHING from this team...they haven't earned it.
