Just started watching. On episode 4. Very good so far. Ending of 1st episode caught me off guard. Will watch rest and let you all know...but it feels little like a post WW2 Homeland
http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/24/us/ne...e-symbols-feat0700PMStoryLink&linkId=19020696 Amazon has decided to take down New York subway advertisements for its streaming series "The Man in the High Castle" amid complaints about the use of symbols similar to those used by Germany and Japan during World War II. Metropolitan Transit Authority spokesman Kevin Ortiz said Tuesday that Amazon had decided to end the promotion, which includes seat wraps on one train and 260 subway station posters. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The ads promote a new series that depicts an alternate reality in which Germany and Japan won World War II and occupy parts of the United States. The advertisements featured a refashioned American flag with Nazi Germany's imperial eagle as well as symbols incorporating elements of the Japanese rising sun. Similar ads in the London subway featured the Statue of Liberty giving a Nazi salute in front of the New York skyline; it's unclear whether those have been pulled as well.
Genius. The news stories about these controversial adds will reach more people and create more interest in the show then a typical a campaign.
I think the ad controversy only generates buzz around the product. Amazon knew exactly what and why they were doing. Kinda like Woody going all in on Tebow back in the dark ages.
I finally started watching and im really liking it. I'm currently on episode 5. Season 2 starts in early December.
March 13 Amazon launched a fake radio station to promote ‘The Man in the High Castle.’ Angry Trump supporters thought it was real. http://www.newsy.com/stories/amazon-s-radio-stream-for-man-in-the-high-castle-is-fake/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...e-angry-trump-supporters-thought-it-was-real/
I found this show when I was out of work for a week and watched it all in about 4-5 days... I was a fan. 2nd season gets a little wonky in the middle, but it ends on a high note. I really found myself not caring about the whole Tagomi arc and his reconnecting with his family in the alternate timeline, I don't find that type of TV entertaining which is why I don't watch shit like This is Us... I am concerned that they are going to have one of those type of arcs yearly as that seems to be how the tapes are acquired. Def looking forward to when season 3 comes out.
