No. The last two games do not matter. Starting GMac is an observation of Sparano.

Anyone that's watched football for more than three weeks will tell you that losing Holmes,Hill, and Keller, would make Joe Montana look like Vinny T in Tampa...so otoh, when we get a real OC, next year.....we can't fall into the Mangenious mistake.

No, Cause I think the point here is to really try and get feel for him and what he is. Kinda like what Philly's doing. We want to know if he can be a suitable backup, potential starter, or bench fodder.

I think it's hard to do poorly against Jacksonville. I only saw the Thursday night game, but it was a joke. And our game against them last season. They're hard to watch.

That's very true. Unfortunately this thread was made before the Jacksonville game when most Jet fans hoped Mcelroy would start after he rescued the Arizona game. Sanchez ended up starting and playing a typically horrible game against one of the worst teams in football (12/19 for 111 yards, 0 td's and 1 fumble lost).

Mcelroy will get his chance to show what he's got against the Chargers at home and then the Bills on the road to end the season, assuming he gets both starts.

I think he would need to be truly atrocious (think 3-14, 15 yds, 2 INTs and a fumble) to get pulled at halftime. I would think he would get this whole game barring a total implosion. That's really the only way I can see Sanchez getting on the field.

If McElroy is mediocre or a little worse, I could see Tebow getting more chances to have full series. But I would hope that the Jets have enough patience to judge McElroy for a full game. I'm curious. He was an effective college quarterback, and he showed flashes of being good Pennington-like in the 2011 preseason.

If the reports about his arm being stronger are true, I think there's a chance he can be a stopgap quarterback. I have a tough time picturing him as the long-term answer as a starter. But if the Jets do succeed in getting rid of Sanchez, I think they'd use McElroy as the backup with a chance to start if things go bad with the starter.

As for this game, I have a tough time seeing Sanchez getting on the field much. I don't think they'll deactivate him out of respect/fact they may need him on the roster next season, but I think it's more likely Tebow takes series at QB than Sanchez.
