In Tony Pisano's Top 50 Cornerback Rankings article, he rated Finnegan 22nd best in the NFL. Like Jake said good but not great. 22. Cortland Finnegan, Tennessee Titans Season Totals: 79 attempts, 7.66 YPA, 44.30 Forced INC%, 0 TDs, 5 INTs My two cents: Cortland Finnegan had a great start to the season, and then really went downhill over the last five games. In those five games Finnegan posted a YPA of 15.27 and forced incompletions just 26.67% of the time. He also didn’t intercept a pass during that stretch. Finnegan was playing great football at the beginning of the season, so I can’t be too upset about Finnegan making the Pro Bowl considering how early the voting starts.
oh i know! he sucks... he plays like 10 yard cushions and still gets beat and plays dirty. he's finely above average.
the word shutdown corner is overrated. A good corner is nothing with no pass rush, and the same goes for pass rush with no good corner. Its a team game!
He doesn't suck, but he isn't 'great' either, and he plays like a bitch. I think one of the finest moments of that game was when he tried to draw a flag on the kickoff and got laid out.
Revis was better than most current corners in his rookie season with no pass rush. The only thing more overrated than the term Shutdown Corner is denying the existence of shutdown corners. But they are certainly rare.
This argument you are using to prop up what your saying is patently false. I give you stat lines my friend...... Had you been a stats geek, statistics would point out to you, that you are 30 to 40 times more likely to see a fantasty stat geek guy in a Starbucks drinking latte with fucking whip cream on top then you are drinking a beer with friends to casually have fun and watch a game, like a non stat geek would........
