When Sanchez is on rhythm, they pull him out and put Tebow in. When Sanchez has multiple interceptions and needs to be benched, they keep Sanchez on the field and Tebow on sideline. Seriously, are they trying to pull a prank on us?
The point is that Sanchez had just completed two straight passes that were well-thrown and moved the chains. He's shown that he clearly is streaky and this seemed to be the start of a streak that could have been the one drive per game (most games) where he shows he can be productive. They bring Tebow in....................to hand the ball off. Why??????? What is the point!??!
So suddenly Sanchez is not a talent? That's a lame, bullcrap excuse. The point is that Rex stayed with Sancez until the team crashed and burned. He rode him into the ground, and along with it their playoff hopes. NO matter WHAT anyone thinks about Sanchez and whose fault it is that he's in a funk, ANYONE could have done a better job the last four weeks. ANYONE. Rex let the entire team down by not making a switch earlier. Earlier being before last night, or after the first interception, second interception, even the third interception. If he makes the change at any of those points, we're talking about how the Jets still have a shot today. Regardless of what Sanchez did in 2009-10, regardless of what he's capable of, regardless of whether it's the team's fault or his own that he's got no confidence left and can't make ANY correct decisions, the fact is that he can't. He should NOT have been in there any longer. Not on the second to last drive, and certainly not on the last "drive", all 1/2 play of it.
Everyone including Gruden, Dilfer and Young are harping on this point the fact is, when Tebow came in the Titans got flagged for Offsides, so Sanchez came right back in and was handed a 1st and 5 ... And proceeded to go 3 and out. Are you trying to tell me he couldn't pick up 5 yards in three downs because his rythm was broken? Really? REALLY?? Sanchez doesn't suck because of Tebow. Sanchez doesn't suck because of the play calling. Sanchez sucks because if you throw him off a boat, he can't hit water ... unless the water is wearing the jersey of the opposing team.
I'm not saying Sanchez sucks for any other reason than he just sucks. What I'm saying is that bringing in Tebow after to straight productive plays just to hand the ball off on a semi-draw play makes no sense. At all. And you can't convince me it does no matter how many sentences you start with "Sanchez".
