Run blocking is poor right now... Pass protection is good Special teams besides turnovers is def one of the bright spots. The offense closed the game really well. Sanchez's arm looks stronger Powell is showing progress Tebow in punt formation is genius work by ST coach Kerley can take it to the house (reminds me of Santana Moss) if he holds on to the ball Nick Folk earned his job, and is proving it. Coach Ryan has made some good decisions, besides not utilizing the 2 minute drill before the half.
The thing the Jets do best right now is grab headlines. I'm not sure that's what Woody Johnson prioritizes most heavily but it's definitely what the Jets do best.
Right now I would say we do nothing particularly well, but the season is young, who knows how it's going to turn out, things can change rapidly if a team gets rolling.
Now that the season has begun and the Tebow smoke has cleared, it is pretty easy to see that management and coaching did very little to improve this team over the summer. Landry is an upgrade, but linebackers move in slow motion, and the pass rush is still non-existant (as predicted by many, our first round pick has quickly disappeared). Offense is a joke - fatass bigmouth yelled "ground and pound" every five minutes, yet they didnt fix the o line until the last week of pre-season, and did nothing to upgrade the running back position. The "Tebow-wildcat" shit is a joke. We have a trouble making possession reciever paid like a deep threat, and no one else to catch the ball. Esiason made a good point this morning - all the legitimately contending NFL teams have someone that a defense has to look at when gameplanning and say "we have to stop this guy". Who is that player on the Jets' offense? They don't have one. And that should have been addressed. Now with Revis gone, this season will probably go south quickly. The one good thing is that if it does, Tannenbaum and Fatass will be one step closer to the door, if not out it.
We didn't have enough money to buy dog shit at the city dump..when you are spending 75 million dollars on 10 players and the top three include a linebacker, cb and pussified wr you have nothing left to bring in that one player that will scare opposing defenses...but don't worry next year gets much much worse.
You're right, and that has to be laid at the feet of our "genius" GM and fratboy head coach. Another reason they should soon be shown the exit.
There is this myth that the O line is playing poorly when in fact it has been a bright spot so far on average. Sanchez had adequate protection yesterday and pass protection for the most part has been very good. How come when Powell gets his touches he seems to find holes whereas Greene seems adept and running into the back of his own blockers and falling into a big pile?? Powell needs more carries and it's time te reduct Greene's roles. Most of you bitched about Hunter endlessly and for good reason but Howard has not only been serviceable but very good and give Tanny no credit for finding him. If you remember he was on the active roster LAST YEAR at Thanksgiving so it wasn't "luck" that they found like some of you spew. The staff developed and worked him into a decent starter so far. Ducasse is now getting snaps and playing reasonably well. The Tebow stuff aside I think it's also fair to say through three games that Sparano is a serious upgrade from Schotty. Sparano is in a no win situation with Tebow no matter how much or how he is used. Other than that what I see is that Sparano has put the offense in position to succeed. The drops and open receivers missed by Sanchez can hopefully get cleaned up as the execution and timing of the offense improves. I think you also see the absence of Keller is significant as well the last two games. Let's hope he is back next week. If so, they will be OK offensively.
Our fans are the best. Simply brilliant when it comes to message board content. I mean Jesus Christ...is it time to give up already? Was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor? HELL NO!
