People hate Cam for the reasons I SAY they hate him for, and anyone who tries to deny that is lying/naive/ignorant. Seriously though, don't hate Cam for celebrating; hate the opposing teams for allowing him to do the things he celebrates.
people hate him because he does things that they find unacceptable. its generational and race related. most white guys over 40 have always grown up with the mantra to respect the game. to never taunt or talk trash. to act like you have been there before. that's just the way we were brought up. most black folks think we are a bunch of stiff no fun having honkies. younger people, younger black folks especially have grown up with trash talk, with brashness, with the want to talk enough and do enough to get you out of your game so that you cant perform up to the level you usually do. and you know what it fucking works. people like curry because they think they identify with him. people don't like cam newton because they don't identify with him or the way he acts. its multi layered and its not because hes black as much as it is because he "acts black" and white people that haven't lived immersed in it don't really understand the social differences that happen a lot of times. now I am doing a lot of generalizing here but I am a guy who used to say the same things about guys before I really understood why and how it happens. as much as white people think black people act like assholes sometimes, black people feel the same way about white people. theres a lot of work to do still in this country when it comes to race and acceptance of different people and their cultures. its not about segregation and fire hoses at this point, thank god. but there is still a lot of learning to be done on both sides of the race aisle.
I'm not a fan of all of the prepared celebrations these guys do but to call Cam out requires they call everybody out. Honestly it all needs to stop due to it hurting teams more often in the form of taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. The players are barely letting the play end before they start in with the stupid act. Course, every now and then you get that rare Desean Jackson type of deal where a TD opportunity is blown up or a celebration turns into an injury.
As a stiff no fun having honky I'm conflicted. I like Cam as a player, but I think any player acting like a fool on the field is a fool.

So if the racist NFL fans dislike non-threatening white QBs like Drew Brees and Eli Manning more than they dislike Cam, how do we rationalize that the dislike for Cam is race related? That argument is dependent on the concept that the majority of the dislike is based on race, not that there are racists who inherently dislike him because he's black. At some point it has to be accepted that there is overlap amongst the dislike of Cam and the dislike of the white QBs; not that the dislike of Cam is a separate group of fans who do not dislike any white QB. Once you accept the likely fact that the same people who dislike Cam also dislike white ass Tom Brady and Drew Brees, it's impossible to justify that the dislike is race related.
jetblue i dont think anyone said that EVERYONE dislikes cam newton because he is black. you are completely stuck on that narrative. if you want to believe that there is not an understanding gap between white people and black people at this point in america. thats fine with me. i see things alot differently than you do. but you cant say that tom brady was the most disliked and tebow second which means that its unfathomable that there are people out there who dont like cam because of the reasons i stated in my earlier post.
