Please refer me to this national campaign that you claim exists. Last I checked it was just people on the internet commenting about how they think he celebrates too much. And he does. If you can't at least admit this, you are clearly being biased here. There are no other QBs in the league (black white or hispanic) that dance after almost every first down and turn everything into a "me" show on that level. I've never seen a QB run victory laps in the middle of a game before. Can you name any? Maybe it's just my subliminally racist double standards, but I haven't seen it. I don't hate the guy, I just think he should tone it down a little bit.
What can I say--I've never really been a fan that digs the flashy look at me style of player. I mean I LOVED Namath as a kid but that's when I was 10-15 years old. Since then I've never really liked that type of player. I've always disliked the Chad OchoStinko's and TO's types but I've loved the Walter Payton's and the Barry Sander's and Jerry Rice's types. Andre Johnson to me is what a professional football player should be. I loved Keyshawn the player but HATED the persona. It's never been about black versus white. It's about professionalism versus arrogant smugness. Maybe it's because I'm in my 50s, not because I'm a racist. Agree 100%. Peyton totally embarrassed himself with his post game. Mentioning Budweiser because he owns some distributorships? Kissing Papa John? I mean, how much fucking money does one guy need? And if you don't think folks are digging on him--that was the second or third biggest criticism I heard all day yesterday on sports talk radio. Michael Kay was KILLING him. _
Words mean something. If I intended to say ALL black people, like you did, I would have said it. You don't get to choose what you think I meant to say because it fits the narrative you're trying to paint. So far as I know, the only thing true about all black people is that they're black.
you aren't a racist. people who dislike Cam Newton aren't racist. but did you like Brett Favre?? I know you liked Johnny Trainwreck.. I mean Johnny Football -- you aren't racist if you see someone's actions differently with race playing a part of it. Thats the whole point. We are all guilty of this. To me its not really something debatable its just how life is. Some people are more aware of this than others. Some people choose to make a bigger deal about it, right or wrong, but at the end of the day the differences in perception exist. focusing on Russell Wilson & Teddy Bridgewater who show NO personality and just so happen to be black, saying you like them, really means nothing because they never show their personality anyway
If the shoe fits right? What you said was wrong. That's all I am saying. The majority of black people or whatever % you want to use, they do not consider themselves victims. In fact, you can make an argument ALL people regardless of race consider themselves victims.
I thought Favre was a jerkoff right up until the day he became a Jet--then he became OUR jerkoff Honestly, I thought the ball sucking of Favre when he was at GB was WAY over the top and I thought his me-first attitude his last 2 years at GB, leading them on, retiring, not retiring, not giving them clear direction was reprehensible. Another douchebag I hate is Cutler, but if we signed him I'd love him. Another "look-at-me-first" guy I TOTALLY hated was Tebow. And I hated him when he got to the Jets. Two white guys. _
Which it was wrong, but hey you can continue to think what you want to think, it's not my job to change how you feel about a certain group of people. Moving on.
I don't know what your getting at but I don't care who she married I just want to snuggle my head into that booty and pull the cheeks over me like blanket covers
Watt's celebrations might have been a bigger story if his team made the SB. I think there is also a difference in perception between a player on defense, and the QB, who is akin to the team CEO. We expect guys on D to act like raving lunatics, and attempt to intimidate through whatever means possible. The QB position is held to a higher standard, or at least it has been. You have to consider the position each guy plays, when entering this discussion.
Yup - I'll continue to think for myself instead of how someone tells me I'm supposed to think. Don't let that stop you from trying your shame game. It's mostly successful in today's world, unfortunately.
And concepts like white privilege and whitesplaining aren't judging an entire race and invalidating the success or opinions of individuals simply because of their race? These concepts don't exist without a sense of victimization -- I have less than you because I don't have white privilege (white privileges). Your opinion marginalizes me because your opinion can't possibly understand my experience because you are white (whitesplaining). The racism of these arguments is incredibly transparent, and yet this messaging is defended to support the victimization of blacks. Why? Because racism isn't a major issue in this country. It's not. But if you want to be an advocate for victimization you need it, so you make up non-issues and then advocate against it.
