It's something Jets fans can't even contemplate. When's the last time we had less than elite center play? 1997? When did Mawae come in? We have literally had the best Center in the NFL playing in NY every year since Mawae showed up, except for 2005 (Mawae was hurt, and playing with a club) and 2006 (Mangold's Rookie year). We also appear to have the best center in the NFL on our side for at least the next 5 years. That said, for zero prep and only being on the team for 2 weeks, Baxter played pretty well. I thought he actually outplayed Hunter...
I am sorry but Baxter was terrible. The Jets were lucky that the Jags were too stupid to take advantage of him. You really saw it on the goal line stand, he looked like a screen door in a wind storm............. I was telling Ollie that the Jags never lined a fat ass over center, wtf were they thinking?
