Does it feel like someone else is picking it?

I haven't read so much high praise for a defender coming out in a long time. I can't believe we got him.

Comparisons to Donald might be too much, too much pressure Donald could be the best interior d-lineman ever. If Quinnen can come anywhere near the type of player Donald is the Jets drafted a HOFer.

This. And if Mac can shore up our DBs (backfield) forcing the QB to hold the ball for an extra half second our Defense will be near the top.

A good DB and good edge rusher go hand in hand. Along with pressure straight up the middle.

Players like Quinnen and Donald are what's making teams pay pass blocking guards as much at LTs.

Our defensive tackles are Q Williams and McLendon, and our defensive ends are L Williams and H Anderson. Our inside linebackers are Mosley, Williamson, and Lee (for now at least) and our outside linebackers are Jenkins, Copeland, and Polite.

This team may have a holes in other places, but they just rebuilt the entire front 7. There is even good depth at each position too.

I think this off-season has set up the Jets for more 4 man fronts. The biggest problem has always been the DE and MLB. I think Mosely and Polite are attempts to address these positions. My guess is a D that looks like this:

    BASE 4-3
    Jenkins - Leo - QW - Polite
    AW - CJ - Lee
    Tru - Adams - Maye - TBD

    BASE 3-4
    Leo - QW - HA
    JJ - AW - CJ - Polite
    Tru - Adams - Maye - TBD

I like the look of the base 4-3 better. It plays Leo, QW and Lee at their natural positions.
