True, the backup is usually the most popular guy in town, but I never saw anything quite like the Tebowmania phenominon. He reminds me of the William Hung craze about a decade ago. This asian kid that tried out for American Idol. totally butchered Ricky Martin songs, but people liked the kid, he went on about inspiration and people loved his charming personality. A record company took a chance on him, and people actually bought that crap... he and the record company made millions even though he was TERRIBLE singer. That's Tim Tebow. ...The William Hung of the NFL.
Nahhh, but Tebow sure is. Lucky he had a defense that held teams to 15 points or less in 5 out of his 7 reg season wins on the season. Orton's record was 23-2 when that happened. Hell, tebow has a loss on his record when the defense held a team to 7 points when the playoffs were on the line. Nothing special about Tebow, don't kid yourself. His throws straight into the dirt are fun though...
I thought you were here because you were concerned about the welfare of the Jets fan base, not to tak shots at your ex QB.
Denver never actually was ranked lower than co #2 on the depth chart, last year the NFL decided that teams did not need distinguish between 2nd and 3rd string on the depth chart...so Fox never did. There were anonymous reports out of camp that Tebow was throwing like a 4th stringer, but the were dismissed by Fox and the FO
It's the reason he managed to win more than a couple games. People seem to think the games were won because he was that damn good. Punting team was... they sure got a lot of game time to perfect it.
Correct. Though he was named #2 on the depth chart his rookie year by McDaniels so that he could be used as a RB errr.... wildcat QB. Otherwise, if they tried to use him, they couldn't play their #1 due to that rule.
Some are so wasted on the kool-aid, they are beyond hope. Come on... a QB who can't pass in an extremely pass happy league? THAT is your savior?
This. The guy is best used in spurts, but he's not an NFL QB. The people that want him in just want anyone but Sanchez. I understand the frustrations, but Tebow is not the answer. If you're going to bench your designated franchise QB, essentially giving up on him, it damn well better be for someone that can actually pass the ball.
Who said anything about savior? What a perfect example of why Tebowmania exists. You come on this forum and after a few days, you have determined in your own mind that Tebow fans consider him our savior when nobody on this board has said that. That still doesn't answer the question of why you are here all the way from the Denver fan base 7 months after Tebow was traded and has nothing to do with your team. BTW, I thought you were our savior. The hero who came here for nothing else than to help us. So far all you've done is talk trash about Tebow.
Now that's funny right there, I'll tell ya. I don't care who your white house party crasher is. GIT-R-DUN! Thanks for sharing.
Are you talking about the defense that was 4-14 when Tebow didn't start. The suggestion that the defense was the only reason they won and carried Tebow is not even rational. The defense was ranked 26 or so when Tebow took over. Orton won about 12 games in Denver in over two years. Hell Orton was 4-14 in his last 18 starts. But yeah it was all those other guys that carried the team.
