I think he played very well, I also find it amazing that people can be down on him after his game today, Him playing at the level he was at today makes this defense much better
I agree with you 100%, Rich. Clearly he played far better than he was playing a few weeks ago when he was benched, yet he still had a couple of terrible attempts at tackling that cost the team big yards. Of course, his whole "look at me" attitude only makes it worse for him - if it had been him who dropped an easy INT on third down on the last drive nobody would forget it, but Revis gets a pass because of the way he approaches the game (I'm okay with that, but it's still true - Revis' hands are anything but godlike, which makes his 6 INTs even more impressive).
Yeah, he puts a lot of effort into being on camera. Based on the amount of end-zone-dancing I saw from him today, you'd expect his statline to be more than 6 tackles and 0 everything else, especially since not one of those tackles could be called a big hit. He gets lots of opportunities to deliver big hits, he chooses not to take them. If he was willing to use his body and lay guys out, he could be a great safety. As is, he isn't. None of which is to say he bears any great responsibility for the loss today. He had the one big missed tackle, but lots of other guys left plays on the field, and I don't just mean the kicking unit.
A little help----------who blew the coverage on the Gonzales TD??? Please tell me it was not Mr Rhodes? I did not watch the replay yet--but heard Rex, and Rex stated "we had the correct defense called" and that "oh what a surprise " that they were throwing to Gonzo. when asked by a reporter , " if you called the correct defense , why did they score " Rex replied "thats a good question"---------Im so beat and tired rite now, this was a tough game to go to and watch in person
Damn, I was coming on to make this post. I have been bashing the way he has been playing, and thought he played very well today. I have been expecting much more than we saw today, but a step in the right direction. He was all over the field today.
