Okay, here i agree with you. Sanchez is going to get one more season, so that will prove one side or the other right. I just hope we don't see too many Sanchez Fans around here if he has another season like this last one.
They will always be here. Again, I use a finance comparison, they are like the guy that got in on a failed stock during its IPO, and now despite evidence to the contrary, still holds onto the stock and believes that if given enough time, it will bounce back. Its the same with Sanchologists, and every apologist fan for a draft bust in any sport. They think that because their team drafted him, and he started there, he should get a million chances to try to justify their investment in him (the countless hours reading about him, and watching him on tv).
Sanchez should not have been given the reins with one year in college, I think that ruined any chance of an NFL career the guy had, he was a couple years removed from high school trying to lead professional football players. I'll give Sanchez one more year under a new OC and if he's still statistically one of the worst QB's in the league we have to look elsewhere. I feel bad for the kid, it seems trashing the guy is all anyone can talk about, it's like there isn't even an NFL playoff going on, it's all about the Jets and how Sanchez sucks. Rex's talking and behavior has made this team so polarizing I don't think anyone can succeed here under the media hatred.
Joe Theismann's divorce record - Theismann Trophies. Talk about the wife being the last to know: In 1984, Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann had the team’s public-relations office issue a press release announcing his separation from Shari. “Hollywood Joe” already had gotten cozy with TV personality Cathy Lee Crosby, whom he went on to date for years. In the proceedings for the divorce from his second wife, Jeanne Caruso, it came out that he said adultery was okay because “God wants Joe Theismann to be happy.” For the last 12 years he has been married to former haircare saleswoman Robin Smith. Joe, God and I want you to be miserable. GFY douche. http://www.washingtonian.com/print/articles/6/171/11176.html
I am afraid you are likely going to be right. It's a form of cognitive dissonance. People who suffer from that refuse to acknowledge facts that go against their beliefs. It is similar to what went on in the Jet fanbase about Chadwick. But Chad was a better Qb than Sanchez. He had no arm and was as fragile as a plaster doll. But at least he had field awareness and knew how to read defenses. Sanchez has a somewhat better arm than Chad, and so far has avoided the kinds of awful injuries Chad went through. Other than those, he's a worse Qb by pretty much any other measure. And don't tell me "Sanchez went to the playoffs!" It's a team sport. But... again, as others have noted, he will be back next year, and I wish him the best. Oh well.
I only like Joe T cause he reads TGG and used my Danny Wood-COCK name on the air. I'm glad the Sanchez haters don't run the FO. How would Eli Manning be doing if the Gints went after another top free agent QB after his abysmal 3rd year?
Yep. Chad at least had success that was because of him. He was just unlucky and got hurt and just simply could not reach his potential. And he was easy to root for because of the injuries and his determination to always come back from them. And Chad won playoff games too. With not as good a defense. With Chad, this was a playoff team. Without him, it was crap. I am not sure the same can be said for Sanchez. Anyway, I hope he isn't here next year, but in the event he is, I too hope that I am wrong about him and he becomes a top 5 qb. I just dont see it happening, especially after he spends an off-season reading about how 99% of non-Jet fans think he sucks and cant lead this team to a SB win.
I have seen him be complimentary. He goes as the wind goes. If you're playing well, you're the best player in the league. If you miss a catch or block or anything, you're the worst player in the league. You want to see a Jets hater? Look at either Kurt Warner or Mike Lombardi.
I seriously want Sanchez to dominate this league next year, and not for us, but for him. He doesnt deserve half the shit that he takes from everyone. Im pretty sure the number of Sanchez supporters can fit in a high school gym...
Too bad Theisman is a faker and trend rider. Dude puts words in people's mouths as if true. He has no credibility regardless of how he chooses to pronounce his name.
Well the one good thing about this thread is it shows at least 2/3rd of Jets fans on here are rational, non alarmist people who understand our offensive struggles weren't just because of Mark. Every single argument I've seen is based on speculation and emotion.
Cant wait to laugh at you and all these other lover boy Sanchez fans when he sucks for his 4th straight year. The excuses you people pile up are getting ridiculous and everyone and everything is to blame but Sanchez in your eyes. BS is no longer the scape goat anymore, but knowing you apologists, i bet Sparano will be the one who is blamed next year.....
They are just happy with a below average QB who is getting paid like a star. Hard to really blame them though when most of the older fans for this team are used to watching bad football year after year....
For the record do you honestly think Sanchez is a better QB then Ryan? How much better 10%, 20% ... 50%?
