Sorry I didn’t make it clear. Because we have 16 and 19, we trade 10 for a 2+3 this year and next year’s first plus any other pick to reach appropriate value. This gives us two firsts in 2023 where it would be possible to repeat the process of gaining good picks in 2023(not first round) and A 2024 first. The useful part is if Wilson doesn’t work out, you have two firsts if you need to start over.
i don't think we're drafting DB in the first. We're running zone, in part, to avoid a huge investment in one given DB. I could be wrong on that but i don't think so. (now if we trade back then i might change my mind). I likewise feel we're not drafting LB in the first (primarily because of Saleh's comments on that) I think we keep both 4 and 10 and seek true blue chips there. DE and DT/OL are my guesses but i do hope WR is one of those two (this is a change of heart for me as I've never been a fan of 1st round WR or safeties) I think it's more like we trade one of our seconds. if we take an OL (I'm 50-50) Becton is likely gone maybe as soon as draft day
My dream scenario if Douglas stays pat at 4 & 10 are any combination of the following players: Kayvon, Ickey, Hutchinson, Hamilton, or Wilson. I'd also be happy and excited with names like Neal, Gardner, Lloyd, Cross, London, etc., but my dream scenario involves the 5 names above.
Thanks. Wilson is going to work out. You can make book on that. I would definitely be against trading the #10 for picks. We won't be picking that high again any time soon. If there's a player that JD and the Jets like and feel worthy, they should take him. If not, they should trade down a little but only for picks this year, no future picks.
Well, if we're going to live in fantasy land.... Trade picks 4 to the Saints for 16 and 19 10. Jermaine Johnson II, DE, Florida State 16. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama Trade pick 19 to the Cardinals for 23 and 87 23. Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia Trade picks 38 and 69 to the Titans for pick 26 26. Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa 35. Nakobe Dean, ILB, Georgia
I had some weird dreams last night. I dreamed we took: 69 Cole Strange to start at center and get IOL depth 38 Breece Hall RB The best way to shut down a QB is to sack him. The 2nd best way is to keep him off the field. I dream with a solid OL, the Jets commit to being a Run dominant team. The Bills have the best QB The Dolphins have to a best WRs A backfield with Hall and Carter is easily a 150yd/game backfield.
I like Sauce a lot too, but I just feel like Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh are all about the trenches. With premium OL and DL available at #4, I just can't see the Jets taking a CB there. Somebody understood the thread, because this really is a DREAM Draft Day Scenario! I'd love it. Nice work.
Any combo of KT, Sauce, Wilson and London with the first two picks, don’t care what order. Cine/Brisker or CB depending on what we do in the first round with either pick in the second.
I think a major factor in the jets potentially picking an OT is their distrust of Becton. Their comments were telling, that they "expect him to be one of their 2 starting tackles" next season. Sounds like they already have plans of replacing him at left. They know they want to protect Zach, and if they dont trust Becton, they could choose his replacement and shift Becton over. I'd still take Sauce, because I dont think there's anyone on the planet like him with his ability, size, speed and production, and I would pick a tackle at 10 or in the 2nd if I were that worried about Becton. You dont get a guy like Sauce anywhere else, or probably next year. You just done see players like him come out, probably ever.
My dream draft would be: Swap the #2 with the eagles for the #6, #38, and #69, plus a 1st and 2nd in 2022. Then swap #6 with Miami for #12, plus a 2022 1st. The picks go: Round 1 Devonta Smith Najee Harris (24) Round 2 Elijiah Moore (34) Creed Humphries (38) Round 3 Davis Mills (66) Both other 3rds on LB - then take the rest of the draft that we got. Now our offense has Smith/Moore as our Harrison/Wayne, to go with Davis, Berrios, Mims. Things looking pretty good. Plus we have a one two punch of Najee Harris/Michael Carter at RB - which would be amazing. With the added LB help and a PB center, we got the core of a playoff team. This draft we would have added picks 15, 19, and 51. This would allow us to use the top 10 picks on BPA at positions of need. We wouldn't need a WR in the first so we could double dip at edge, or oline, and/or get a stud LB. This leaves our 3 second rounders wide open to look for steals - or to trade. Sorry I'm still living in the past.
I have a dream that one day little green boys and girls will be holding hands watching meaningful football in January
My dream scenario goes something like this: - Jets take Thibidoux or Hutchinson at 4. - Jets trade 10, 111, and 163 to PItt for 20, 52, and 84 - Jets take OL/DB at 20. - Jets trade 35+38 for Metcalf. - Jets address OL/DB/LB with 52, 69, and 84. If the Jets can manage to get Metcalf and still have 4, 10 and a second round pick, I'd consider that a monster win.
