Finally watched Thor: The Dark World last night. Got the disk from Netflix for a while and it's just been sitting there and after the World Series got out of hand, the GF and I decided it was time.

    Boring.

    As.

    Fuck.

Don't get the superhero movies set partially in alternate worlds (Thor, Green Lantern, etc.).

Saw John Wick on Friday...Great action film, the craziness of it and the characters really made me love the film. Keanu was fantastic in his martial arts stunts. Really good effort from him.

Saw Nightcrawler on Saturday...Jake Gyllenhall is quickly becoming one of my new favorites...This should get him a nomination for Best Actor. Dude is a freaking sociopath

Two movies on my list. I'm going to try to see Wick this weekend but I figured Nightcrawler for DVD.

    John Wick was awesome.

Sad Keanu in the beginning. Then mad Keanu at the end. Epic.

I saw Annabelle on Saturday. Thought it was ehh at best. Some parts had me jump due to shock factor but overall I didn't really like it.

Yea, I didn't like either...I thought the second was better than the first, but both weren't any good.

The best part of both movies is Loki...He carries them.

Nightcrawler was a fantastic movie, really think it may get a couple awards this year, at least nominated

They are different movies, I thought Fury's first half of the film were great, things in the 2nd half got a bit ridiculous. But still solid as I love WW2 films

Nightcrawler is the better overall film.

Ok, I'm very sorry that Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away, feel for his family, we lost a good actor, etc. but his last 2 "big" pics were IMHO awful (not talking about that teenager trilogy he's in).

Saw The Master last year and absolutely hated it. He was bad and Joaqiun Phoenix was worse. One of the worst movies I saw last year and that's including Sharknado (the original).

But I heard good things about A Most Wanted Man, from the John le Carre novel. Billed as an international spy/action thriller. Saw it Friday night.

Total snoozefest, overly complex and unsatisfying.

le Carre is a guy that needs to be read, I've not seen one of his movies that's translated well to the screen. Most Wanted, Tinker Tailor, Constant Gardener, Tailor of Panama, not good source material for spy/action thrillers. Russia House was decent but that's only because of Sean Connery.

Don't get snookered by the pub the movie's gotten because it's Hoffman's last big role.

    Not good.
