Last years team was nothing like the team that Mangina left with. It was completely different so you cannot say that Rex didnt build it.

And I ask you my friend, how many Rex Ryan press conferences have you watched? Do you listen to what he actually says or what ESPN wants you to think he says? Find something that Rex said that is disrespectful and come back to me.

Why do you think Rex has the ability to hire or fire the OC?

If Schitty is here next year that tells me he some kind of blackmail-type deal going on with Woody or Tanny.

Sorry, but that game is on Doug Brien. He makes a 43 or a 47 yard FG, either one with less than 2 minutes left, and we aren't bitching about Herm in that game.

Worst choke EVER by a kicker.

I'm not anti Rex, but you have to admit that we said about Norv Turner was pretty "rude". Somehow Rex mananged to disrespect and praise Norv at the same time.

Ryan, who interviewed for the Chargers' head coaching position in 2007, was asked how he might have fared if he had been hired instead of Turner.

"Well, I think I would have had a couple of rings," Ryan said with a laugh. "I'm telling you, those teams were loaded. There's no question about it. But things happen for a reason. Obviously, Norv Turner has done a great job there, and A.J. (Smith) and everybody. That's a great franchise, and he's probably the best guy for the job at that time."

    Rex Ryan on Peyton Manning:

“This guy is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game. The guy is tremendous. There is no one else like this guy in the league. Nobody studies like him. I know [Tom] Brady thinks he does. I think there’s probably a little more help from [Bill] Belichick with Brady than there is with Peyton Manning."

Did he say Brady was an asshole? No. Did he take an unnecessary dig at him. Hell yeah. Why piss off Brady and give him bulletin board material? Why not just shut your mouth? Say shit like that in the locker room, not to the press.

Agree that its on Brien, disagree completely that herm shouldn't get blame. I sat there screaming at the TV when he had Martin basically kneel and take a 2-yard loss to center the ball for the fg unit when the offense was eating up chunks of yards!!!!! Plain and simple, he got scared. It also made the fg over 40 yards, and at that time no kicker had ever hit a fg over 40 at end of the field.......in the history of the stadium!

And Tom Brady has never made a snide comment about the Jets? The media makes it out to be Rex as this big arrogant trash talker who shits on everyone in the league and never backs it up. When actually he is normally respectful to the other teams.

That's not what you asked. You asked to find something Rex said that was disrespectful and get back to you.

3 years is a pretty decent amount of time for a "player's coach" to lose the focus of the team. There are always going to be players on a team that need a total prick to stay on their asses constantly or they will lose motivation and focus. Its human nature, we are not all born leaders. And you can give all the emotion and big talk and pats on the back, but some people are not going to produce without fear and intimidation.

I watch this team this season, and I see a fair amount of lax play and quitting when the backs are against the wall. I hate to see it, but I've worried for some time that this would happen. The players can say they will play for Rex, but the ones that need to be just are not intimidated by him. I hope this can be turned around, but am not sure Rex can be taken seriously by his team.

Don't get me wrong, I don't ever want the guy to leave. But he has to make some guys on the team fear and hate him. Being everybody's best friend and excusing their lack of effort will lead you to the unemployment line. Parcells was loved by his players, but there were also guys who hated the prick. But it works, and I hope Rex figures that out.

I always thought it funny that one NY coach is voted as the one players would most like to play for, and the other is supposedly the least liked by his players.

Coughlin has gotten the Giants into the playoffs 4 times in 7 years. If they go this year it'll be 5 times in 8 years. That's not too shabby for the cranky old fuck.

It's not bad at all but they haven't made it the last 2 years in spectacular fashion, and 3 years ago when they did as the 1 seed, they let Philly beat them. Sports, especially football, live in the "what have you done for me recently world".

They'll always get a little bit of a break from me just for Super Bowl XLII.

In fact, except for the play-off year, he's never won a play-off game, and in all of those losses the giants were expected to win

But I guess a VLT covers up a lot of sins

I agree that we suffer from a lack of discipline. Careless penalties, poor clock management, and failing to secure the ball have all contributed to our poor play this year.

I disagree with you on the quitting statement. I think this team has a lot of character, and they get that from Rex. However, we have shown an inability to stop teams in crucial situations (Denver comes to mind). To me, that is more a breakdown in personnel and a failure to make in game adjustments than a quitting issue.
