Amen. Some sanity at last. Drafting ZW was obviously a fuck up. So get the best value for him and then own it. Most of the rest of their work is on an upward trajectory.

Tanking is a complete bloody nonsense. Forget about it.

Sorry, but I don't see Caleb Williams as worth tanking for. The best plan for 2023 is to go with a veteran and continue to build up both sides. Once the offense is fully established, consider taking a QB with a high pick again. The prospects I have my eyes on are Cade Klubnik, Drew Allar, and Connor Weigman. They should be eligible come 2025-2026. Now, one might say, this is too long to wait for since even the young players we have will get older and more expensive. But, some will still be on the team then, and we should have a pipeline to replace certain positions.

    Great idea!

    In 2020....

An owner with balls, would sell the team to someone who knows what they're doing.

So - did tanking ever work for any NFL franchise? (I can't think of a single team off my head.) I am not even talking about drafting a QB in the 1st round and hoping he would become the one franchise QB the franchise ever wanted. What team successfully tanked a season, got the elusive franchise QB with that very high 1st round pick and ruled supreme? Probably we should start from investigating whether tanking is a viable strategy to begin with, no?

Haven't you already realized that the Jets can't even tank right for a generational QB? We tried this only two years ago and failed. It was like getting all the answers for a test and still failing. Not going through that again.

In all seriousness you can't tank with our defensive core and talented skill guys on offense. They would all demand to be traded at some point out of frustration, and you might not be able to get them back mentally.

and if that "first round pick lol" is the #1 overall pick we tanked for to try and snag C Williams? What do we do then

Balls in his head instead of brains perhaps. This is crazy talk. We are WAY past this type of thinking. In fact, your Avatar image would need to change since JD might flee Florham Park for any other job if a crazy owner gave that decree.

Trevor was the guy, we missed, now we move on and build a solid core and we need a cheap alternative at QB. That is the only way. Sadly.

Intensive Purposes?? How long have you thought that that is the phrase? It took my brother until he was over 30 to realize that it's wheelbarrow and not wheelbarrel.

The defense is too good to just tank and the team is on the rise. It makes no sense at all to tank and throw away everything the Jets have built over the last 2 years.

If you think the best plan of action for the players and coaches is go from playoff contention to worst in the league, to draft another Sam Darnold, you are off your rocker.

    Build on what you have!!!

For all intensive purposes or for all intents and purposes

“For all intensive purposes” is often mistakenly used instead of for all intents and purposes, but it is incorrect and best avoided. The mistake results from people mishearing the phrase.

    Interesting! Ha
