I'd also rather give one of the guys on the Jets bench a shot. They've all had a year watching a HOF player, sitting in meeting, etc. Learning how to do things (and more important, what not to do !). So I'd imagine that all three are better players for the experience. Lets let them battle for the starting job. Besides I think talking about Smith is a moot point. Baltimore would be foolish to let him go. Even with Flacco as a starter the Ravens always need a backup. And Smith was a very cheap 5th rounder. So keep him on the roster forever. You never know if you'll need him.
I actually love the idea. Smith was a great QB in college and unike other fast QB's, he can actually throw and doesn't rely on his legs. I also like the idea of Matt Leinart.
