the sky is not falling. We need a win and get some momentum back last night was all about the turnovers. We take better care of the ball and it's a completely different story. Now if we lose to Houston, then it's time to panic
Wow, this one really stings. 30 year+ Jets fan here and any of us long timers could have called this one. Coaches come and go, QB's come and go, management comes and goes but the one consistent is you can spot a Jets letdown game from a mile away. It's a gut feeling after all of this time. Sure, there is always the hope that this one might be different but we root for the franchise that is gonna tear your guts out in a million different ways. They almost always find a way. Is the season over, hell no. History even says that the Jets will probably win a game we don't expect (maybe even the home game against the Pats) but that will just be the setup...you know what I mean, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the football scenario again, and again, and again. But are any of us gonna stop watching, nope. Because one day it's gonna happen, the planets will align and that elusive SB win will happen, right, right?
There was absolutely no location "where the ball needed to be" on that throw. yes, it hit Marshall in the hands, but there was a CB literally standing right in front of him with two other players in the area. In no logical scenario do you make that throw. It shouldn't have even hit Marshall's hands, which is why I think he dropped it. He thought he was going to have to play defense on a pick.
One disgraceful element seemed to me one that I don't know if anyone else has mentioned. Stacey fielding the punt on the 2 - why didn't he just let it go? Did I have the angle on that wrong? Seemed like it was going into the end zone. So of course he fields it with no real open field in front of him and he goes down with a season ending injury. I haev not seen a replay of that, ftr.
It was a kickoff, not a punt, with 3 seconds left in the half. There's a 0% chance of scoring on offense if you take the touchback and a 0.5% chance that you break the kickoff all the way for a touchdown. He was just trying to make a play to shift momentum before the half, I thought it was the right call to return it.
Fair enough. Thanks. But ftr with the downfield coverage there was very little chance he was going to get anything going there.
The Jets were banged up last night and they were still right there at the end. It could have gone better but sometimes you lose the tight games. One fumble on a KR was the difference in the game. Did anybody really think we were going to put up a lot of points on that Buffalo defense? We held their offense to 1 TD, which was about what we should have done. The Bills have scored over 30 points in 4 of their 5 wins.
I was screaming and my wife thought I was going to smash the TV.... Why in gods name didn't they take the FG make it 20-22 because the D was playing well and holding them.... did you see how they played after the last one.... the coaches lost this game period.
The Jets have lost 3 of their last 4 and did not look especially good against Jville. There is cause for concern.
Knowing what we know about Stacy there was very little chance he even got to the 40 yard line if the entire Bills coverage team started crawling
The Jets are banged up right now. If they continue to lose key players to injuries and have others playing at 85% with various injuries they won't make the playoffs. That's true of everybody but the top of the ladder right now in each division. It's true of some teams that are in first place. It's just the way the NFL works. I'm not going to get pissed off because Pryor got hurt and the safeties are now a vulnerability. I'm not going to lose it because the OL has been banged up, nor the main receivers. It just is what it is. If the Jets catch a few breaks they're still very much in the playoff hunt. If they keep losing players they probably aren't. Getting angry about it is so SOJF and I'm not going down that road again. Not when there's nothing the team can do about it.
Lol. Rogers or Brady or Brees makes that exact throw to his top receiver and his top receiver catches it and it's "a perfect throw into a tight window". It hit Marshall perfectly in both hands. That's not on Fitz. Marshall has to catch that ball. _
A day later I feel worse, devastating loss, not only season ending but humiliating losing to Rex like that. Bowles and every member of the Jets should personally apologize to all Jets fans for forcing us to endure Rex's non-stop gloating. At least with the season over my Sunday's are freed up, wake me up when the draft's around the corner.
