Thing is the Redskins are going to be really good this year with all their additions and the core they have in place. A first could be like 25. Nonetheless, the package is very impressive. I would take it just for the picks. Ramsey is a throw-in to me.

Looking at the market for Abe, I like it too. At first I was like no but a first, second, and the QB the front office wants? And the cap room? Do it! There is no guarantee that the Skins "all star team" is going the playoffs. They still have a ? at QB and Santana's hammy could go at anytime.

I like this move, it makes a lot more sense then getting just one first rounder this year. It keeps consistent with our FO building a solid core to our team, I am all for this.

I say take it run and dont look back, After whatever happens this year with the Jets we would be in a better postion to really see the HOLES that need to be filled. I like it and the more I think of it I like it even more.

I'd take a 2nd and next years 1st for Abe alone....

    Ramsey is a throw-In.

We get cap room, get rid of a guy that doesn't want to be here, add at worst a backup qb and we also get a second this year and a first next year. When you consider the fact that the only 1st we were going to get this year was prob Denver's 29th how can you not love this deal? For all the additions the Skins have made they still would need to make the NFC Championship game for their pick to be worse then the Broncos pick this year. I love this deal.

You're right, I completely change my mind. We have to do this deal. Maybe they are dumb enough to throw in another low round pick.

right now, it looks pretty good.

but with all the good players the Skins are adding, i wouldn't expect to have a good R1 pick from them next year.

and yes, i'm aware they've done this in previous off-seasons and haven't gotten anywhere; the only BIG difference is, it wasn't when Gibbs was there.

    cheers

The only downside of the trade is that Washington may be very good next year. They have really upgraded their weaknesses.

I'm starting to be swayed because Abraham is having issues socially here and if we look ahead to the future, three picks in two rounds in two consecutive years looks pretty attractive. I might go for this.

WOW...did he say where he heard this info?

I doubt Benigno would announce a rumor like that if he didn't think there was a chance it would go through...

Agreed, with Gibbs you have to worry about the Skins. But anything short of a SB appearance for them with the money they are shelling out would be a disaster. Brunell and Campbell........not so sure......

Redskins | Team lands T. Collins
    Tue, 14 Mar 2006 11:09:46 -0800

Elizabeth Merrill, of the Kansas City Star, reports free agent QB Todd Collins (Chiefs) has agreed to a two-year contract with the Washington Redskins, according to agent Brad Blank.

Sounds like a replacement for Ramsey. And there was a rumor that Ramsey would get traded today...

Remember that old rumor of Abe for a 2nd and 3rd this year, and a 1st next year? Mustve had some ground to it, because this deal (if its true) is pretty similar
