Kafka was blocked from interviewing for the Eagles OC job. He might be the Chiefs assistant to go after.
What I want to see is Chris "Moron" Johnson admit that when he called Gase a genius earlier this year that he was completely wrong, and admits now that he's clueless about football and therefor is turning all decisions over to Douglas.
The credit for Allen's improvement belongs directly to Allen. He committed to improving his footwork and that has led to his improved accuracy. What's sad is Darnold works out with him and Palmer and had the same opportunity to improve but he refused to change his footwork and throwing motion because as he stated this offseason " it's comfortable " for him. Team coaches get very little time to work with players. It's up to the player to put in the effort during the offseason. It takes alot more reps to develop the muscle memory than players have in camp.
What Daboll has done is put Allen in a position to succeed. In a position where the things he's worked on haven't been stress tested to destruction before he has developed confidence in them in live situations.
Well, if that is true and I am not doubting you (I just never heard that before)then the new HC will probably tell him to get his shit together or your done....
Lost in all of this is that if Gase is fired Monday, it proves that the Jets' admin offices are leaking like a sieve to the press again. 2 different sources have reported this now.
I don't really think it proves anything. Many posters here have also been saying for months now Gase will be fired after the season is over - at this point it's kind of obvious where pretty much EVERYONE is really saying this, since it is getting close to the end of season. It's nice to hear to be sure, but Gase will be gone after the season, and it doesn't prove or disprove anything, it's just something that's obvious.
Not surprising news, but Ian Rapoport basically confirming that Gase will be fired after tomorrows game:
I am just laughing (though not really) at the statement "expect a thorough and lengthy search" - I mean - as opposed to what? putting the names in a hat and pulling one out at random? actually - that might be the better idea
I feel way better. Hearing it in WFAN was meh but Rap reporting it makes it way better. I can finally look forward to Jets football again.
In the course of a "lengthy search" won't most of the viable candidates get hired first by a team that was prepared to do a thorough search but not take so long? Time is of the essence.
Sounds like we'll take our sweet ass time as we watch all the good candidates get swooped up, then settle for the next Bowles/Gase. So, basically SOJ.
Unless you were trying to send a message to Gase without Chris Johnson's fingerprints all over it. #conspiracy2021 #redundant..
No, the new HC will want no part of him. He has played like shit for 3 seasons, and has paid Palmer for 3 years to help him improve his game, and if he is so fucking stupid that he won't listen to the coach that's trying to help him, then screw him. I hope he winds up out of the NFL and stocking grocery shelves. I've thought for a while that he lacked the football IQ and maybe the regular IQ to succeed. This just confirms it for me. He will never amount to anything in the NFL, unless he wakes up this offseason, and realizes that he HAS to change his footwork or his career in the NFL is over.
