Maybe it's just that I'm a sadist, but I enjoy the fact that someone who has cause as much misery to as many Jets fans as this guy has will be spending the rest of the week knowing he's dead.
Yes, he did fine, but Gase was OK too, it's that working with Payton and his recommendation put him over the top. Eric seemed only OK without Mahomes, much like Gase. With Mahomes all of the sudden he is OC for SB team. And not even calling plays. It's just seems like a stretch to give him a job at this point, especially given how Gase, who only really starred with Manning, worked out. Daboll, on the other hand, turned a good prospect but with a huge flaw of poor accuracy into a star, and that is really impressive. We should be in the same position next year with Fields/Wilson (or even if Daboll wants keep Sam/likes Morgan) where we have a similar level top young prospect, but with some flaws. Plus weakening divisional Bills a bit by taking him doesn't hurt either. So far definitely a top choice for me, and even if we get someone else, we gotta stay clear of Eric.
