I dunno... you could be right? And I agree, he's worth more than he gets.

The Yahoo article is a little weird in that it mentions the contract issue toward the end, almost as an afterthought.

“I’ve got two years left on my deal,” he says. “I’m just here to play ball. I just worry about doing my job and let everything else take care of itself. I want to be out here to help my team win. I want to be out here with the fellas. There’re only so many days you can sit inside and rehab. It gets kind of boring in there.”

I still don't see a holdout or anything along those lines happening. He's just too much of an "aw shucks" kind of guy.

Usually I thought Welker was a nice guy. Please don't tell me he's another prima donna! Like Haynesworth, Revis, etc!

    Because...Welker sucks.

He's a mediocre guy playing third receiver.

If we'd have put Chrebet at the 3 he'd be in the hall of fame.

The typical nonstory. An unnamed friend of Welker's is suggesting he's rushing back from his injury. There is no way he would be playing or practicing if the Pats and his and their doctors didn't feel he was healthy.

He pretty much defused this one before it even started. "I've got two years left on my deal. I'm just here to play ball. I just worry about doing my job and let everything else take care of itself."

Yeah, they screwed those guys. Seymour was a top 5 paid DE the last 4 years he was on the team. Mankins was offered 7 mil per as a restricted free agent who they didn't have to offer anything after the tender. Vrabel was pulled out of the trash and had a great run with the Pats, then they traded him.

    Outrageous!

Welker is a product of the system and knows that. They can find plenty of short, quick guys to do what he does in their system.
