Agreed, but I will say that I have several friends that are Giants fans, and their texts were all about how much they wanted Sauce, and how they were pissed we "stole him" from them.
Yeah I don't even care about the Giants factor but if you're picking a CB top 4 he's gotta be a game changer
Absolute embarrassment. The Jets just drafted the next Kyle Wilson. This team literally takes years off your life.
Sauce was the better pick, and I have zero doubt that’s who the Giants would have taken if we didn’t. Plenty of reports were out that they were very interested. KT was a risk I wanted no part of.
Appreciate your opinion, but Douglas should have taken DE J. Johnson at 10 IMO. Can't believe he passed on him for WR Wilson. Yeah, we still have picks left, but that is EXACTLY what Kotite said in 1995 when he was asked about the jet fans reaction to him taking Sapp over Brady--Kotite weakly mumbled "We still some have picks left,"
It's hilarious to come into forums and see people lose their minds over picks they think they know a lot about. I'll trust JD and his staff over the yahoos who are crying about not getting who they wanted... Especially when both players were rated the best at their position by draft experts who get paid to know all of these guys year round. You won't ever see me hating on a pick unless it's historically head scratching. Let these kids play and we have this convo a few years from now
Welcome Ahmed "Sauce" Gardner. You have the game, and the nick name to be a huge star here bro. Lets get this.
I don't believe that to be true. It's not a huge gap. So, no, I don't realize that because I don't agree.
History shows that if you do not get your edge rusher in the top half of the first round, you're not going to get a "that guy" later. The drop off is that steep. See the list of NFL sack leaders for the past decade. As much as I like Sauce, KT was the right pick at 4.
respectfully disagree. Much more pressure on the Jets and Douglas in this scenario. Thibodeaux is considered a potential impact player and if he doesn’t pan out that’s just luck of the draft for them. However, if he lights it up and Gardner doesn’t, it will be considered yet another time the Jets passed on a star player and made worse by the fact he went to the giants.
Kotite has nothing at all to do with this.. What? lol Gardner and Wilson are arguably the best In this draft at both their positions. With plenty of high end talent at edge still left In this draft. I am thrilled with this draft.
