Holy cow! What incredible analysis and insight! You watched a college highlight video and determined Sam Darnold is better than Sanchez! You must have been in the draft room today.
Please report the posts where you see personal attacks. Anybody can dump on the pick but on the poster who likes the pick or who hates the pick.
He'll need a year of seasoning before he's ready. No matter how shitty it gets for the Jets season, I don't want to see him on the field until next year.
Can we get a ban hammer on golden showers? Nobody needs his negativity Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
Darnold is about as fundamentally sound as they come. He’s got a hitch in his throw but everything else is text book. If he can get the TOs under control he’s going to be just fine. Better than fine. The problem is... getting the TOs under control. I understand wanting Rosen over him, because I did as well, but what I borderline can’t even accept is the whining and bitching about taking him third overall.
Attention to the people complaining about my hating on the pick. Debate me on why he is so great, instead of asking for me to be banned. This same brain trust hired Todd Bowles. You really think they know what they are doing?
Ok never mind. I guess I read your missive wrong. It was a good run here for a day. Well, at least I’m ecstatic we got our franchise QB.
Thank you, no. I longer have to deal with a-holes in real life, sure as hell not going to deal with them on a silly message board on such a glorious night.
Every Single QB had an issue.... Rosen is injury prone, Allen never played against top competition, Baker is Small, Lamar doesn't complete enough passes..... You pick one and hope for the best..... Not shower them with negativity before he has a chance Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
All four of these guys have/had red flags. None of them are sure things. Jets picked the one they thought and who many thought was best. We'll see over the next few years how it turns out. Most people had Darnold as #1 since last year and it hasn't changed even with a lackluster sophomore season. Jets took the consensus #1, so bash the pick all you want, but to say that the FO did a shitty job here is just asinine.
It remains to be seen just how "lucky" we got. If Darnold proves to be the best QB and can fix his issues, then yes, we'll be lucky, but if he turns out to be a mediocre bigger version of Sanchez and Mayfield and Rosen become stars, then the Jets's curse will have continued.
Darnold, aye-yigh-yigh. At least I don't have to hear Fold for Darnold anymore. I HATED that. It was worse than Suck for Luck. Well, at least Darnold doesn't have cheese on his teeth and doesn't look like a total goober, so that's a plus. Go Jets!
This was my best case scenario and I never thought it possible. Now we just have to worry about the Jets fucking up his progress.
Well, it's one of the big keys to the whole thing. Sometimes a guy can have all the tools, but get thrown into a team that can't develop a QB for crap and the guy ends up being a bust. Such a player could maybe go to another team and end up a star. It's not always the player that's a bust, but the team itself.
So I step away for a few hours to watch Avengers Infinity War (mind blown), and the Jets proceed to f*ck up the draft. Not my choice but I am now Sam Darnold's number 1 fan. My hope is Jets fans this time around exercise patience and not attempt to run him out town like we did Sanchez once he inevitably starts passing out turnovers like candy on Halloween. Championship!!!
