He looks like a skinny Vinnie T. I was hoping we'd pick up Josh Johnson instead of this guy but now that we've got him, I hope he surpasses expectations.

    I have seen him play

My fiance and I ar eseason ticket holders at Neyland, he's incredible. You obviously don't want to much SEC football if you think this guy isn't the real deal, and a winner. He led a medicro Vol program to Conference title games, and out performed Henne in the Senior bowl. A great addition to your roster and by far more well rounded than the other two QB's.

Like the pick... He seems like a real smart guy and if he can get a shot maybe he can succeed.

Have to agree here. I watched the videos and I swear this guy looks like Chad. In all the highlight videos you swear he was throwing short to Coles or Cotch and you watched the recievers do their thing. He will fit right in the "sneak and lob" offense. I think this just makes Kellen stand out more as the guy who can fire the ball. I'm thinking that maybe Kellen has a shot here.

I've watched Ainge off and on for 4 years and this past season I happened to catch his last 3 games. He was a general out on the field, composed, confident and he made some clutch passes. I was pretty shocked at how well he played, because up until then I didnt think he was all that special. And all this talk about a weak arm is BS. He can make all of the throws, with touch or zip, on the move under pressure. That's more than I can say for Pennington.

The kid has something. People on this board are pretty polarized and either love or hate him, but you have to give the kid a chance. He may not end up like Brady, but may be more of a Phil Simms type and thats pretty good.

I mentioned this in another thread - anyone else notice that he has similar mechanics to Penny in regards to using too much upper body and not enough legs on his throws?

In the vids I saw he looked like he was trying to 'place' the ball, as if he was afraid his crappy receivers would drop it. Then out of nowhere he just lets one go with good velocity.

Pre-injury Penny with a stronger (while no rocket) arm and larger frame? Whats not to love for a 5th rounder?

Tom Brady didn't wow anyone coming out of college either.

He has zero mental toughness, but does have some physical tools with good size. Maybe if he can get his head on straight he could be a contributor.

According to what ive read. He's 6'6 221 Pounds and has a Strong gun and can air the ball out but lacks any sort of speed or athlethicism and has Injury problems but for a 3rd String QB whats not too like ?

In ten years we could be wondering why Andre Woodson went from a top ten pick 6 months ago to slipping to the seventh round because of the Combines. We took the wrong Qb yet again!
