I'll bet your house we see a lot of Tippman at LT during TC.

What makes you say that? The reviews I’ve read indicate he’s not particularly flexible in regards to other positions on OL particularly tackle? Which is surprising considering his size.

Half true. The Jets do address the OL probably more than any other position. They're just not that good at it and they have had some horrific bad luck at it. Mangold and Brickasaw were probably the best ever. Then Kevin Mawae couldn't stay healthy. The Jets drafted guards and tried to convert them to tackles. Or draft a tackle and try to convert them
to guard. Never understood that logic. If you needed one of them just take somebody that has been playing that position. No learning curve is involved.

Obviously it was the hair. I heard JD and Saleh mention the "Wisconsin Waterfall" several times between the draft room call and press conference. They were clearly mesmerized by the Mullet, as you would expect from 2 aging bald men trying to cling to what could have been.

Really well-spoken for a young kid. Can see he was well groomed from Fabini, and he's willing to work. As an aside, I hope he never gets injured and starts every game for the Jets for the next decade, but I've got a feeling that Joe would know what to do with a club.

Not really sure why I said that....maybe his height and length? He also won a state championship in high school playing LT. I guess just his size and quickness reminds me a lot of D'brick. I won't be surprised to see Saleh try him over there, maybe with the 3s.

The Jets now have a deep and versatile o-line. They may not be the top o-line, but most likely they are above average.

This. They have 11 guys under contract (once the rookies sign) and a bunch of guys that can play multiple positions.

I was gonna say, he hast Tackle height and weight + ppl claim he’s fast. Outside of not doing doing it previously, why can’t he play tackle?

    Check this out:

Now, Schmidts was consensus #1 C, but Jets selected Tippman, and this is the reason:
"Tippmann’s multi-faceted game is what sets him apart from Minnesota’s John Michael Schmitz, who was widely considered the consensus No. 1 center going into the draft but was passed over by the Jets in favor of Tippmann. While Schmitz led all centers in gap-blocking grade and zone-blocking grade, his pass protection is shoddy. He only ranked 61st out of 136 qualifiers in allowed pressure rate with a mark of 2.65%."

With Rodgers behind him, pass pro I think is most important. Also Tippman is two years younger as well.

Did Tippman play in the opener against the Bills?
