Obviously when you look at this kid you see a guy that is a big hitter but what really stands out to me is his open field tackling & blocking...the kid does it all !
He's a better version of Pryor, which leads me to believe Pryor is going to be gone soon. They'd both play in a Rex defense, because he doesn't make the distinction between SS and FS but Bowles is going to need somebody in centerfield.
Absolutely, if we want Adams to truly fulfill his potential we need a center fielder and let Adams do what he does best.
If this guy turns out to be the next Ed Reed it won't mean a thing..instead of losing games 27-0 we will lose them 21-0. This inept FO will never learn. Fortunately they won't be around much longer I would think. Oh and to make it worse Cleveland now has 2 1s and 2 2s in next year's draft..guess where the number 1 QB will be going then.
I love this pick because for once they ignored stupid stuff like combine numbers and measurables and drafted a hell of a FOOTBALL player. Adams did it all at LSU. He was the leader of that defense and was all over the field. He is going to have a long successful career in the NFL and he will be the "quarterback" of our defense
It was a typical NY Jets pick. It was clearly BPA, defense again and a safe pick. Adams will undoubtedly be a great player for the Jets, but however well he plays, his selection isn't going to move the needle from a losing team to a winning team.
I woke up this morning and still can not believe Adams was there at 6!!! Wow! In the last couple weeks I had been going back and forth with my buddies, none of which are Jets fans, and we would discuss the first picks and not once did Adams fall past 3 with any of us. We have Chicago to thank for this one. They really spun this thing on its head reaching for Trubisky like that
Great pick. Alone he won't "move the needle" but will be a huge part of our process to win in the future. I think we look back on this pick in 3 years and say wow! I'd love to see cook, King or Robinson with our second pick.
If the Jets are so terrible the Browns could have 5 first round picks next year and the Jets could draft in front of them to get the number 1 QB.
You could do what I did with my Revis jersey when he left the first time. Put a pillow in it and use it as a dog bed. Trust me Fido wont care
I saw this today that I thought was pretty dammed impressive... Adams did not commit a single penalty last year. So you look at his highlight vids and he is all over the field. Covering receivers one on one, playing centerfield, then later rushing forward and laying the lumber on screen passes and running plays and the guy never got called for a penalty??? that's a sign of a good safety right there. clean, hard hitter and covers without being hand-sy, instinctive so he doesn't put himself into tough spots.
I like that his name is hard to misspell. I don't think anyone available at 6 had that ability. We need a lot of help. The only smarter move would have been to trade down.
