Great point. This regime might break some glass along the way but they will not tolerate players that don't give 100%. I'm on board with that
Not landing Barr or another premier LB during free agency was a blow-- He royally screwed us by wasting our time....we were left no alternatives at that point.
Makes sense. Pete Carroll has always been good with college kids and Polite is a kid with some maturing/responsibilities that he's currently lacking in.
I really thought (due to his 'rawness') he'd be cut, clear waivers, and land on our PS. Well, he was cut and cleared waivers, but Jets didn't want anything to do with him. Had nothing to do with his 'rawness'. He had to be seen as a cancer the Jet brass (and most likely many players too) wanted no where near our locker room. So sad. Polite clearly had the god given talent to dominate, a truly rare thing. I get Macc rolling the dice (in round 3). Sometimes to get greatness, you really have to take a huge gamble. Not so in the 1st round, but later on, no guts, no glory. More will come out in years to come. Maybe he was a gang member who kept his possy close (ala Hernandez)? We know his was fined $100K for 'being late to mtgs', but there HAS to be more, lots more. I agree with DefenseWins (write it down!) that if anyone can help Polite, it's Pete Carroll.
You've been around here 10+ years and you believe that? 5 years from now someone would be itching to prove a point and bump this thread. Now some threads, like @MParty7441 's Worse day at the Airport thread, deserve the bump treatment even after 13+ years. This one not so much.
Yeah... It'll be like a reluctant turd if he does anything with Seattle. Sometimes ya gotta flush twice... Lock it, Cman!
Man, nobody wears it like Jets fans. We're indeed a fractious lot. Geez guys, it didn't work, and the guy who picked him is gone. He didn't want it bad enough here, but he's getting another chance. Hope he uses it better. That's football. Let it go. Don't lock it, @Cman60, just let it ride. Don't give the bitter bastards the satisfaction.
