Me too this is a horrible pick. The one QB I didn't want and Mac like clockwork drafts him. This years draft is a head scratcher. I just don't see how the Jets have improved their team.

I'm rooting for the kid. Could be a bust but who knows? We'll see and it makes the QB position more interesting.

So apparently petty sucks. If we drafted Hundley last year we'd have been set

Thats defense retard. They had the sanctions on them, no talent and the coach was terrible. Jesus cant you do simple scouting? I doubt youve seen as much of him as i have anyway. He needs time but he has talent. You cant even win this argument.

Honestly, signing Johnny Manziel to a prove it contract and drafting an O-Line would've been a much better bet, at least Manziel was awesome in college against top competition. This is a terrible pick, this guy isn't even a backup in the NFL. 54% in completion % In college? Just awful.

For everybody who is bitching at this point: this is the guy the Jets are most likely to try to develop into the franchise QB. If you're a fan get on board with that. I'm not sure it will work but I'm excited to see them make the attempt with a big smart kid who knows how to operate under center.

Yeah and how many qbs in this league do that. Did you see who won the super bowl last season? You think Manning or Brocko raised the talent around them? Jesus they woulda probably done better with Sanchez.

Chicken or the egg...... Im not arguing with anything you have written, makes perfect sense. I just feel nothing fucking matters until we get a qb, period. We have to keep drafting them until we hit on one. I really dont mind one pick a yr because bowles will keep a solid defense. I liked the geno pick, I loved the kids arm. "doesnt mean you need to make poor decisions" - we really have no idea if the pick is poor or not. Be thankful rich kotite isnt making the picks, you would lose your fucking mind.

    haha, rotoworld's take:

but he is clearly a multi-year project. The Jets drafted another project in Bryce Petty last year and, as of now, will rely on Geno Smith as the team's starter.

    How does that grab ya

If I'm going to burn a draft pick on a QB who sucked last year then take Cardale Jones - at least he was more impressive in 3 games than Hack ever was in his entire career

Get over the Petty crush. I'm a Fitz fan, look at my avatar. But do you see me whining uncontrollably? No you don't.

Reading this board during the draft is always entertaining. Let's say there's a 20% change that Hack could be a Franchise QB - that's easily worth a 2nd round pick. I kind of like it that the kid had some adversity - in the NFL and in the NY market, it's absolutely clear that any QB on the jets is going to be dealing with adversity and, hopefully, his experience will help him there. Just take a deep breadth and relax - it's a 2nd round pick and if it's wasted it's not the end of the world.

I do not expect him to start this year, so they probably still want Fitz as a bridge.
