What, coach dialed up a zone blitz and he had to dive at him full speed and full force to hit him before the ball came out. Sure it wound up being a little low but he was aiming for the body, honest.

Gotta have that special hate in your heart for Brady imo.

I'd settle for what you want, actually I expect it with the Pryor selection, but one can always hope for more.

but changing the rules of the game doesn`t take away from it? Building these crappy billion+ dollar stadiums, then telling fans either take or leave it doesn`t change the game? Well maybe that last one doesn`t, but it certainly changed Jets home games. And not for the better. What about financially segregating the fans? That certainly takes a lot away from the games.

I see nothing wrong with kicking the shit out of the opposing players. I see nothing wrong with making them scared to line up. If they get hurt? It`s all part opf the game. On purpose or not. Now go out there and kick the friggin shit outta them !!!! :)

Football is and always will be a physical game, so yes beating up on the other team is a good thing. I love the Pryor pick because of the intimidation factor. That being said, there is a key difference between incidental injury in a highly physical game, and intentionally trying to permanently injure an opposing player. It takes away from the spirit of the game, and isn't excusable no matter how many times a player beat your (our) favorite team.

In response to your first two points, the discovery of concussion implications has changed the game, and it's a reality that the league didn't create. It's a shame, but it's not the league's fault on any level, it's either evolution or God's fault depending on which you prefer. The human brain is a very sensitive organ, and wasn't made to be smacked around all the time.

As far as financially segregating the fans, if the wealthy fans didn't want to be segregated, the teams wouldn't do it. I fall under one of the lowest income brackets so don't think I'm being elitist on any level, but the simple truth is you get what you can afford. If you want all fans to get the same experience regardless of excess wealth, you should probably start a petition for the government to take possession of the NFL. It's a free-market economy we've got here, and sports fall under that just the same as everything else. Whether or not you believe the minimum wage is fair doesn't matter in this instance, because the government doesn't consider sporting events one of the staples to survival. Sorry, but if you're upset about the cost of attending games, you're just shit outa luck. It's not something every fan has the right to, in the same way that you can only get as nice a television to watch them on as you can afford.

So when the league hired crooked doctors to be in charge of sweeping under the rug the knowledge of how many lives concussions destroyed for a couple decades to avoid class action lawsuits and rule changes to decrease the bloodsport entertainment of the game until reversing course when the evidence became publicly overwhelming, that was what, just good sportsmanship from the league in the spirit of competition?

Inexcusable of course, but I would never root for that to happen, just as I won't root for players on my team to intentionally severely injure others. I have many problems with the NFL, but I still have a passion for the game. When I talk to my friends, I tell them the NFL is basically an evil corporation solely invested in making money off of basically gladiatorial events. Regardless of the fact that the NFL is only really making those safety precautions to ensure their own survival, I still believe they are beneficial to the players. The things I love about the NFL are the rules that they have that increase the fair competition for all NFL teams. I love the strict salary cap, and I love the draft structure. No other professional sport has even close to that kind of universal equality when it comes to team building.

Super Bowl champion KO bounties getting publicly outed four whole years ago. Non-stop PEDs with who knows what kind of long term detriments. Some of Brady's most productive seasons in his waning years on the back of a serial killer TE. Things you'll never hear about that are probably darker than that.

The point is that worse happens constantly than half wishing your most hated professional athlete in the world would play his last snap at the hands of your favorite team's recent enforcer acquisition. The reason guys like Pryor strike fear in opposing teams like no other is that exact reason. So for Brady I say let the big dog eat, not wishing it on everyone.

Yeah, you're not wrong about any of that. It's one reason I'm glad Idzik targets high character guys in general.

Don`t forget what these players are compensated for to do. They know the risks as well as any bridge painter, window washer, truck driver, policeman, firefighter, etc. It all comes with the territory. I suppose this is the reason a good LT is needed, no? LOL

I`ve gone to Jets games for a very loooooooooong time over my fanatical career. I`ve seen Kenny O get pummeled to where he couldn`t even dive a half yard to score his first professional TD, which he never did. To be honest, I don`t really care about any professional sports athletes and how they end up, which is usually with more money than they can spend in 2 lifetimes. I have no sympathy in that respect. Unfortunate for some? I suppose? But they chose it, not me. They wanted the big $$$$`s and took the risk. They wanted to be superstars and "entertain" us schmuck fans who were/are willing to give what we more than likely don`t have/should save. Yes, I`m bitter on how expensive football games have gotten. Thats why I don`t go anymore. My choice though. It`s not necessarily the changes in the game but moreso the crap us Jets fans were handed after being promised to have "The Best Stadium Ever Built By Mankind In The History Of The World". Instead, we got what is THE WORST 1.6 BILLION DOLLAR STADIUM EVER BUILT BY MANKIND IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. ROTFLMAO. There is simply no way in hell, or Heaven, they will get my money to watch anything in that stadium. It`s a shame but I deal with it with much animosity daily. But it`s ok. Woody failed and the Jets still haven`t done anything since last millennium. We`re just about 20 years into the new millennium and I don`t see much happening anytime soon. But like an asshole, which everybody has one, it`s just opinion and it stinks. :)

have a good night everyone. And keep your opnions clean so as to not stink so much. :p

I think we've drafted Bob Sanders 2.0 ( but just a little more meaner). Hope he can avoid injuries with that style of play, most of these kind of safeties dont.

Pryor doesn't seem very smart. Taking to twitter to offend / gloat over fans in your new town before you've played a single down.

At least in my circle of Knicks fans friends, we all wanted BK to lose Miami, so he's only joining Knicks fans in poking fun at BK. Making fun of Pierce just makes him even better in my book

Reading Twitter is never a good way to judge a player. Otherwise, Chris Johnson would have never even made it to the NFL.

Pryor is from Florida, he's a Heat fan. I'm a Nets fan, so I may not like it, but fans who get on his case maliciously are morons.

Who gives a shit what Basketball team this guy roots for. I guarantee you half of the NFL players root for their home town sports. If someone like Pryor was born and raised in Florida, then I expect him to root for Miami and Florida teams.

All I give a shit about is his play on the New York Jets. I could care less who he roots for outside of football

The only part of those tweets that matter is that his current favorite team is the Jets.

Who cares how he feels about the Nets?

Agreed. Even so, he correctly inserted the "haha" to let everyone know he's laughing WITH them.

    Jesus, we're all so emotional...

Exactly. I was very happy at watching the Nets go out like that. If I had twitter I would have talked smack too.
