    New Kickoff rules. https://operations.nfl.com/updates/football-ops/new-nfl-kickoff-rule/

Kicking team starts on receiving team’s 40 yd line. It’s like a big run play now, and returner will need to break tackles.

He’s not slow for his size. He ran a 4.5 at the Combine. That’s pretty good for a RB. and i’m Talking about Davis

4.57 @ 220 lbs. That’s big and fast if he gets a 10 yard start in a kickoff

Interesting. Thanks. Will be curious to see how they use everyone and who makes the team.

There’s ground and pound with Mark Sanchez at the helm, and then there’s ground and pound with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. If the safeties have to stay honest against the run Rodgers is going to carve shit up in the passing game. Weapons like Smith, M Williams, Hall, Corley underneath, Allen for power, hell even Ibanikanda is talented. You beat a defense up with Hall and Allen and then carve them up with Garrett and Williams with Corley sprinkled in, that’s pretty formidable. Hopefully someone implants a brain in Paul Hackett’s cranium.

To be honest, I don't think Hackett is really the OC. I think ARod is the OC and I'm confident ARod knows all about mismatches and how to create them.

This concept is so non-sustainable, the only thing it really strengthens is the team's utter dependant on Rodgers. The moment there is any issue with him, everything goes into the toilet.

Rodgers will call the plays most likely, but he can't do anything that isn't in the playbook.

Small note about Braelon Allen's durability concerns. He was limited effectiveness last season due to a sprain in his leg, but the only injury history I found reported for his collegiate career was 2 sprains.

I think he can put plays in the playback. I think he really does function as an OC. Also, I think many veteran HOF QBs really function as their own OCs. I think Tom Brady was his own OC (that why his OCs were so great with him and bad elsewhere). I also think Peyton Manning was his own OC (do you really think Gase was his OC?).

Every team needs a big backup RB they can run the piss out of for a couple weeks down the stretch, or when they have a lead, so their main back doesn't have to take that unnecessary abuse.

    Allen fits the bill

This, of course, assumes that they ever will. What if JD, who is anywhere from marginally to significantly better than some of his predecessors, is as good as it gets?

This is all true - Pederson became available and everyone automatically assumed he'd be the guy or at least get an interview because of their Philly connection. (I personally was against it, I'm ashamed to say.) And a couple of days later, Saleh was hired.

I wanted Daboll at the time as he was an offensive coach and had proven he could develop a QB, unlike Saleh. In hindsight, we’re hearing some odd things now about personality issues or conflicts within the team, so who knows if that was part of it, but still that’s who I wanted.

And I would absolutely have preferred Pederson, a proven offensive Super Bowl winning HC. There was no valid reason to not even interview him.

And in hindsight, I still think Pederson would have been a better choice than Saleh.

    But you know…Jets

Can always count on this team to make the wrong decision

I liked Daboll too, and I forget why I didn't want Pederson. Something had happened that soured me on him, but I was absolutely wrong. He would've been a MUCH better choice in hindsight.

Idk, Saleh has always felt like a Douglas guy to me. They have similar football philosophies. Both utterly obsessed with the trenches.
