I love the pick but that was expensive. Two roster holes we now can’t fill as it stands. I’m expecting a trade back from the second round to try and recover a third rounder.
we have how many picks in next two years all those guys arent making the team, if you have the ammo and see a guy you like that is there why not be aggressive and have some balls love it
Horrible and Expensive was my first take .. Didn't know we got a 4th rounder back* Let's see what else he does ..
I understand. I wanted Jenkins too, but I'm choosing to trust JD on this one. Besides, unless Jacksonville takes him, we could still take Jenkins at #34.
What do you know about the Jets? We were never going to fill all our needs in this offseason anyway. The most important thing in this draft was getting our QB and then building around him, fixing the OL and upgrading the playmakers. You and all those Jets fans clamoring about DE and CB are freaking clueless and don't understand the first thing about roster building. Mac screwed up when he drafted Sam, and then drafted defensive players with three of his next four picks, and the following season didn't draft OL or WR and four of the six players drafted were defensive players. That's not the way one develops a QB or wins. If you knew anything about the Jets, you'd know that over the last 10 years most of the top draft picks and money in FA has gone to the defense. The defense was already way ahead of the offense, and the DL the strongest unit on the team, and in FA, JD added three more DL and spent most of the money on the D. The draft this year should be 85-90% offense at a minimum. We have 11 picks next year with two 1sts and two 2nds. We can get our DE and CB then. We don't need another DE now. We have a couple of young players at DE that we added last year that we need to find out what we have, and we have Curry, and even JFM and Q. Williams might take some reps at DE. It can wait until next year if the present players don't cut the mustard. A DE would do nothing to help Wilson. We'll probably sign a CB and/or LB after the draft, and probably draft a LB in the 4th round. Mismanagement of assets. ROFLMAO You are totally freaking clueless. Aside from QB, OG was the biggest need we had. Douglas will address DE and CB, and WR. I'm not worried about that at all. You should worry about the Bills. The Jets will be more than fine.
Well that was a fun catch up, so we signed the best guard in the draft but he is also a guaranteed massive bust, also while wasting 2 thirds at the same time. Excellent go jets jets jets Right off to the Wilson thread for more reasoned debate
I like the fact that Wilson and Vera-Tucker were both drafted in the same draft, in the same round, basically together. They share this experience for the rest of their careers, hopefully helping them bond and build chemistry even before they set foot in our training facility. Maybe this even makes AVT more eager to protect Zach from the evil DTs of this bad NFL world
I dont like this pick especially at the cost we paid for he seems a bit soft its not quenton nelson or zach martin but i guess its the zone blocking scheme fit we will see I guess he just doesnt fit my vision i hope jd is right tho
I love the pick, I want to see JD take more offensive linemen in the coming rounds. It all starts up front.
I don't get this logic. Why was it expensive? We lost two thirds and got an additional 4th. Was a top 10 pick on JDs board worth one pick? I would say so
Because we lost two third round picks on a player that wasn't going to be picked at #14 with other OL options still on the board. With a roster full of holes. As I said, I like the pick.
