I have seen multiple comments on the Net regarding the lack of love Ivory is getting from the new FO. "ESPN New York wonders if the Jets new coaching staff has questions about Chris Ivory. Ivory, a two-down pounder with no pass-game skills, is a very questionable fit for OC Chan Gailey's offense. We could say the same thing about newly signed Stevan Ridley, but the new staff just went after and signed him. Ivory, meanwhile, is a holdover from the Rex Ryan ground-n-pound scheme. Perhaps these two big backs will battle for one roster spot come training camp. - Neither Ivory nor Ridley has the pass-game chops OC Chan Gailey has required from his backs in the past, and the Jets look poised to add a running back in the draft. There will be a role for a back like Ridley or Ivory in the offense, but the Jets only need one of them on the roster to fill it." Kerley has both good chemistry with Geno AND an ability to get open underneath, how many of his catches over the last few years were on 3rd down and resulted in a 1st down - a lot from my recollection.
Yup! We have a playoff-caliber team this year, so lets go 1-15 so we can select a QB that has a whopping three games under his belt as a starting QB!
That would be tough to do with the roster we have now. We will need to trade up for sure. If the team develops this yr and the QB is the missing piece, I wouldn't mind a trade-up.
We WOULD have a playoff team, if we had someone that could deliver the football. If Fitz starts....we have a nominal chance at being a playoff team. Unless, of course the coaching staff got some magic QB pills for Geno, from the same guy that sold Jack the magic beanstalk seeds.
We went to two AFC championship games with Mark Sanchez as QB, Mike Tannenbaum as GM, and Rex Ryan as our HC. Let that sink in.
This guy seems like a non-bust kind of player. I see him immediately fitting into the offense and making a contribution.
Where is junc now - I need to hear how good an OC Brian Schottenheimer is. P.S. I have grown new respect for that man, Jeff Fisher. I thought he was a clueless moron that just rode the coattails of the things he learned while playing in 46. Looks like he indeed is a very decent human being - saving the face of those who work for him, regardless of whether he likes the said guy or not. If it was left to me, you know what you'd get:
Yep after finishing behind the lowly Jests, at 28 in total offense, genius OC Schottenheimer has agreed to leave St.Louis to take the same position with Georgia....? I just want to know what clandestine photos he has, that has each NFL franchise he fails, pushing him out with kid gloves....
