So you think OBJ was phenom? He could have busted sure, but thats not where this originated. He claimed he was a boom or bust prospect. That was not the consensus on him at all. If you want to make the argument that every single draft pick in NFL history is a boom or bust prospect then there is no fucking point in talking about this lol.
You don't take a player you think could be a solid #2 that high. BTW that bandwagon departed 2 years ago.
I guess they have to look good somehow? He was definitely boom or bust. No one thought he would come close to the player he is now coming into the draft, if someone did, I sure as heck didn't see an argument on this board.
You also don't take a player that could bust that high. You said boom or bust. If thats how they evaluate at it there is a floor. So based on your opinion it would almost seem OBJ shouldn't have been a 1st round pick? Because a bust is being a non-factor.
Lol so your comment about him being a stud in practice is based off of you tube videos. Stop. I saw him as much as anyone, great college player as prone to busting as Justin Blackmon or Charles Rogers or any of them. _
I never said he would be one of the best WR's in the league or to play the game. I said he would be a stud. Oh boy how things get taken out of context.
It's not about him being a first round pick, it's how good he could be in comparison to the other receivers in the same draft. I don't remember OBJ being mentioned in the same sentence as Watkins, Evans, Matthews and Lee that's all I am saying. I keep forgetting Cooks also. This is prior to the draft.
If you were from LSU I'd take your comments into context about how great he was in practice. I went to Syracuse. I go to 2-3 games a year and every game in the tri-state area, I go up in the summer for practices- Two of my kids went there over the past 8 years. I could tell you all about Ryan Nassib and Terrel Hunt and Eric Dungey. I saw Geno and Watkins and Fournette and Hackenberg live. And Marino and Boomer and a whole host of superstars. I wouldn't say how great a player was in practice if I didn't see him live. You're just a fan like the rest of us and you have no better insight into how great OBJ could have been or whether he could have busted. You don't have any "research" that puts you anywhere in front of anyone else. Be a fan. Don't claim to be an expert. _
Has nothing to do with post count. You claim to know something none of us knew and no experts knew either. _

WHERE DID I CLAIM OBJ WOULD BE ANYTHING MORE THAN A STUD? I never said he would be an all-world, freak, potential hall of fame type player. I said he wouldn't bust and would be a stud. You originally you disputed him being a stud in college and having the potential to be a stud. You then conceded he was a phenom and that he was "a stud? sure". Which one is it?
This is not your opinion. Where did it say, "Martin&theJETS believes OBJ will be the best wr in the draft" Do you see where we are going with this yet?
You don't have to be an expert to claim a player won't be a bust. It's an opinion and one is allowed to be right. Would I have bet my life on it? No. But I have some good intuition when it comes to players. I've been wrong before. But I've been following the draft since 2006. I do have some experience. I'm not a GM but I would have drafted OBJ in a heartbeat. This goes the same for Amari Cooper. Would you have thought Cooper had the chance to bust? Fuck no. Its not hard to recognize stud potential when you see it. Like I said I know a good receiver when I see one.
