I think most people understand how good Warmack is. The few voices that would have bitched about Guard in the top 10 would have been drowned out by the voices that said do you feel comfortable with Vlad Ducasse and Joe Nobody starting at guard next year?
If Richardson was top-4 on the Jets board, Bradway was and still is the f-cking problem. His ass should have been canned around the time he traded up for fatboy DeWayne Robertson, took a kicker (Nugent) in the 2nd round, and traded a 1st rounder for Doug Jolley. There is no explanation for why this turd still has a job.
Agreed. I would've liked Warmack and would have liked it over Milliner. I suspect they'll make a play to bring back Brandon Moore if they don't get a guard in the later rounds that they like.
Two outstanding players who will fit the d perfectly. I don't want to score this yr anyways. Look forward to seeing Sanchez pounded into dust prior to his departure.
Rex is obviously trying to recreate daddy's defense with JB, Reggie, Golic, and Cldye Simmons. He better be fucking right with this pick, I would have preferred Star
Saying "two of the top four" is very specific, and, to me, that directness is meaningful. He could have said "we took two guys who were at the top of our draft board," or "we took two guys we think can make a significant impact and develop our defense into a significant strength." What he said was they ended up with what they believe are two of the four best players in the entire draft. That level of specificity is very encouraging to me.
pretty much...... but you forgot Bradway also chose B Thomas over Ed Reed, after the JETS drafted 2 linemen in the 1st 2 years earlier....... but it's OK, they got Jon McGraw rd 2
So, really, it just depends on how good our scouting department is. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I wish more people would go watch some of the game tapes of Richardson all over youtube. Reminded me of the Anti-gholston. Seems to dominate and cause havok during whole sections of games. Seems REALLY driven to be in on every friggin tackle, no matter where it is. HOW IS THIS A TERRIBLE PICK? People are talking about him like he never deserved to be drafted, period. There was a reason some teams were trying to trade up to get him. Deep breaths everyone. "We had needs elsewhere" I KNOW that, but the pick is what it is, and he seems to be better than most of you think.
The problem is Terry Badway yes Badway is still in that scouting department. The guy has more lives than Rasputin.
Just by looking at the couple youtube videos of him...it looks like he fits the true definition of raw talent. His speed once he gains position penetrating the line is incredible. Like a blur. The problem with that is like a true pass rusher and unlike the a true DT...his quick penetration hurts him by running past plays. Again..thats looking at about 25-30 plays...but he does get burned by his speed upfield. Cant say there is not a load of talent there...just looks like a learning curve will be in the mix..big time...which for a number 13 pick should not be the case.
So let's give the guy the keys to the Lamborghini because he was right about one player. Let's ignore Doug Jolley trade Justin Miller Mike Nugent Dewayne Robertson Bryan Thomas and all the other garbage because he wanted Russell Wilson.
I get it is a need but the offense is awful and you don't draft a qb at #5 and never draft anyone to help him in every year since
I followed Richardson from college recruiting. Great kid. But we spent the last three drafts on this exact type of player, and have two spots for three players. It was a colossal waste of a draft when we have zero need at DT.
