richardson! thats huge, didnt get the throw off. you KNOW the refs were dying to give them a pass interference on a hail mary
Great half for the defense. Decent start for the offense, but they nuedered them after the hot start. special teams throwing up all over themselves as usual gotta hold them on the first possesion. going down 20-10 would be the death blow
Ok so spot of the ball is critical but missed 10 and 15 yard penalties aren't? So you are for drawing the line we just disagree where that line should be. For some reason challenging spot of the ball you're good with, but challenging a missed blatant 15 yard facemask penalty isn't? Using your logic of every play must be right you aren't being logically consistent here.
They were working on his hamstring on the sideline. I think he popped it on the first play from scrimmage.
why is it the right move? We didnt have enough time to try to get into FG range? Shit with less than 30 seconds the Pats almost did it.
Penalties take into account a lot more judgement than spot of the ball is. The spot of the ball is concrete. The ball is where the ball is. Referees are left to interpret the penalty calls as the rule reads. The spot if the ball is where the ball is when anything but the feet and hands touch the ground with possession. We're moving towards a league where pass interference will eventually become challenge-able. It's not like coaches have unlimited challenges or else a game would take 5 hours. They get two and a third if correct on both. Use them wisely. There's been cases where coaches use them both in the first half and are screwed on a play in the second. You really don't want to see play stop for 3 minutes 30 seconds for a crucial half yard in a 10-10 ball game? That's your perogative. I'd say you're in the minority that wants to see these games sped up by maybe 7 minutes a game in place of getting the call right. You must be super busy.
Because the Pats have Tom Brady and we have Ryan Fitzpatrick with the ball on the 23 yard line. We don't have a good down the field passed and we want to limit their opportunites. The coaching staff deemed correctly IMO they'd rather eat the ball than risk throwing two incompletions and punting the ball to New England with good field position, all or 2 of theit time outs and the best ever at converting at the end of the half.
Well we had the ball first and lost the advantage due to a turnover. So we'll see how much of a disadvantage based on if they score on their first possession. Plus you have to give NEP the advantage in terms of halftime adjustments only because Belichick has proved it and Bowles hadn't. Already you saw Brady and McDaniel going over things even before the half was over. The Jets moved the ball at first but later not as effective. Hopefully this changes.
or maybe you can not be a moron and see the value in correct a play that was obviously a horrible spot.
we had 2 minutes and all 3 timeouts. we had success throwing so far. there was no excuse not to at least try. its not like we needed to air out bombs, we had a ton of time
