I wasn't talking about yards or points, I was talking about 3rd down conversions since you brought that up. I would bet money on Fitz throwing an INT too but I'd also hedge that bet on the Jets communications channels being cut out at some point, because that's what the Pats do at home.
Smith Fans are like vampires. Even a 4-1 record and solid Qb play in the most recent game by Fitzpatrick cannot kill them. We need sunlight, crosses and stakes through the heart I guess.
I don't see the other side of this argument anymore. His play vs the Eagles and Dolphins was cause for concern, but the way he played Sunday is more than good enough to get the team into the playoffs. Even if they fall short Sunday, this caliber play is well good enough to beat the Raiders, Jaguars, Bills, Texans, Dolphins, Giants and Titans, which is the schedule following this week. I was pretty convinced that the ceiling for this team with Fitz at QB was 8 or 9 wins and a narrow miss at the playoffs, but with the way things are setting up I'm equally as convinced now that I was wrong.
Butler sucks. they match him up 1 on 1 with the other teams best WR, but he also gets beat by that guy every week. when qbs have thrown at Butler this season their qb rating is 130.2
exactly... fitz wont lose games vs. mediocure teams. and thats all we need to get to 9-10 wins. we play like 8 more shit quarterbacks. our D will hold themt o 15 points or so, fitz just needs to not throw up all over himself and we win those games
I think this is a match the media is going to over look but a bunch of Pats fans are giving you the respect i believe your team deserves. Frankly I think you should be 5-0 and this by all rights should be a battle of unbeaten teams. That lose to the Eagles should not have happened. That is just one of those "any given Sunday" things. A return for a TD, a few crazy turnovers and a few important players out. I think the Jets will absolutely be a playoff team this year. The 2 Jets games could be the hardest games left on the Pats schedule TBH. I expect my Pats to win but I sure as hell am not taking the points. This will likely be a 1 score game and not cause of a garbage score at the end.
Well, this is concerning. The Jets added Fitz to the injury report with a right elbow, but he practiced fully. Something to at least keep an eye on. He kinda needs that elbow...
I see him as a work in progress (read: with upside). His career consists of a whopping 5 games so the book's hardly open let alone closed on this kid. While I hope to hell he gets crushed every which way this Sunday, I just don't think he 'sucks' to the point that he's going to be easy pickings every single time his man is targeted and down the road on each and every Sunday as he gains experience. Only time will tell.
"They" say it might effect his deep ball which we all know isn't very effective anyway but there is no chance he won't start.
The way he plays and with his injury history it will be surprising if lasts a full season. Another negative to have already had our bye week. No NFL team should have a bye before week 6, complete disadvantage. I think he's fine now but later this season on short weeks vs. Buffalo and Dallas it will be tough on all our old guys.
I have a good feeling about this game. I think we go in there and win, although I'm not ready to say we will win the division. I just don't think the Pats have seen a team anywhere near us yet, and they always have an early season game where they don't play well. We are going to be able to do all the things we have been doing all year, running the ball well with Ivory, hitting Marshall for big plays, and protecting the QB. The Pats D is not a special unit, and not the best D we have faced this season. The challenge is bigger for our D but I think we will knock the Pats a little off sync this weekend. They may get their revenge on us later but we force a pick or two out of Brady and prevent them from running the ball. Gronk goes for 100+ but nothing too harmful.
