    By going for it and not getting it, you almost guarantee you need a TD to win now.

    if you punt, you need a stop and a FG

    if you go for it and don't convert (4th and 6 is a low percentage down), then if NO scores a TD it's over

    even if they have to settle for a FG, you get the ball with not much time left and needing a TD

    Belichick just doesn't understand probabilities. That's the only explanation I have for that.

    That was very high risk (giving the Saints a free score) without a huge reward, and a low percentage down.

    By the way, on 4th and short, you could make the argument. Almost no one would go for it, but it would be close to a toss up.

    4th and 4 or more? You have to punt.

    He didnt trust his defense which goes to show he still knows his defense sucks. He basically admitted his defense sucks despite his defense coming out and making the stop.
