What I highlighted above seems to be a point that's been lost in here. Moore will be limited in making passes. The Dolphins will try to keep running on us. That rookie (thomas?) if he can stay healthy is a pretty decent RB, and their line is decent as well. Which is all that seems to be needed to run on us. I'm not as confident of a win as everyone else if we don't wake the fuck up on defense.
So, here and on the radio, everyone seems to think a win over the Dolphins is a lock. But given the Jets run D, and Miami's line (I'll confess, I don't know much about how they've performed this year), why isn't anyone worried they will just keep running, tire our D out, and keep our offense on the sidelines?
Nothing's ever just given to anyone but I think this is a win. God knows we need one just to cool down the negativity here and in the locker room.
Well, I doubt negativity here has any effect on the team's play (though I could be wrong). Negativity in the locker room is to be expected when a team that thought it was Super Bowl bound loses 3 in a row. a HUGE win over a SHITTY team on a Monday night at home will go a long way toward improving locker room chemistry.
The middle and right side of the line blow... It's Jake Long and some human turnstiles. I can't beleive Columbo is still the right tackle...he is so bad... With consistent pressure, you should be able to disrupt anything our pathetic offense attempts to do...
Difference between them running on us and the Patriots is they have 0 passing game. With Tom Brady you can't sell out on the run because then Welker shreds you. Against the Phins we will stack 7 or 8 in the box the whole game and let Revis cover Marshall.
First off, the Jets should be coming out on fire this week. too much talk and not enough action this season. a] Holmes and Buress - We heard your bitching and we agree. However, now is time to help the team and the OL by NOT dropping sure catches and in fact by making those catches that other great receiver make to help a QB in trouble b) We keep pounding on the offense but quite frankly the D has not showed me that we are top 3-4 c] We can not get off the file on 3rd and long - fix it d] We can not stop the run - we just talk about it. We need to force teams away from their game plan e} Is it me or we are giving way too many long plays this year f] finally we got to stop killing ourselves we penalties. we are not good enough to overcome that The game against the Dolphins will tell us a lot. If we want to be a contender we should bury them but a vast marging. a close game will not cut it. It is time to turn this ship around
It's not a great sign that this thread has been less utilized than the "Holmes said this" and the "Brandon Moore said this in response" threads.
The problem is not that everyone expects the Jets to win. The problem is that this game has 10-6 written all over it, and that kind of win will only fuel the fire
