It's pretty simple. The offense is again not moving the ball. And the Jets are losing the turnover war. Just hope they can go into the half 10-7 and don't again allow a late score.
Walls' diving attempt to knock that TD pass away was so pathetic.. Was it just me or did he just kinda float in the air and drop right down.
A defense that can't make a critical stop and an offense that can't get out of it's own way.....the NY Jets.. I swear this offense gets worse every week.
I'd be interested (but admittedly too lazy to research myself) what the Jets vs. Opponents scoring in last 3 mins of the 1st half has been in each game. I know this game, and obviously the Packers games wre train wrecks and I suspect the trend is more consistent than that.
It wasn't just the Walls play which wasn't terrible but the entire series esp allowing 3 20 yard completions. Can't win a game when you allow those last minute scores. I think we need a new OC.
Shoutout to Rex and Marty for the inexplicable decision to run the ball on the first play of that series. And then let valuable seconds tick off the clock before figuring out that they should call a timeout.
First off bad teams don't get calls. Next, the reality is this Jets team isn't that good and we're just not in Denver's class yet. Keeping Manning in visual distance is a tribute to Rex.
Jets "2 min drill" is a pretty good snapshot of just how inept this offense is. Overview: Jets 1st half: 7 x possessions, 82 x yds . Allowed Denver 7 x possessions. Criminal. Vaunted "ground and pound" attack: 1 yd net rushing in the 1st half.
Biggest play of the half besides the Powell fumble was the Kerley drop giving Peyton the ball back with 2 minutes. Geno has had some happy feet again this week but that throw to Kerley he set his feet after scrambling. I would love to see the Jets go back to running the hurry up offense. I think it makes the reads for a young QB easier and we have been more successful with it this year.
