Who amari cooper? Next draft is a joke at the Wr position. Best bet is to get sammie coates and Dorian green-beckham round 2 and up. I'm not buying into amari cooper as a 1st round pick.
Based on what Peyton did last week, we are going to give up 50+ to the Broncos. Hell manning could pass Favre this week for all times TD leader. He only needs 509 to take the lead and he has 503 now. For a HC who is suppose to be a defensive genious and for spending SIX straight 1st round picks on the defense, we suck against the pass. Three of the 1st rounds were spend on DBs who Rex hand picked. What a waste! Can we get a new HC already?
Unfortunately, I also have to agree with your comment. Nobody should have faith in this secondary slowing down any top WR in single coverage. I see the blitz constantly punishing opposing QBs on first and second down. However, it's consistently giving up 3rd downs. Is it too late to implement some type of zone on a consistent basis while rushing only 3-4? Sure it puts a lot of stress on the few DL trying to push the pocket but I'd rather lean on the team's strengths to make a play (instead of its weaknesses which is the shit secondary). Instead of aiming for the 3 & out, perhaps something more of bend but don't break philosophy? Let the opposing QB dink & dunk his way forward and hope you can make a stop on at least one of these 3rd downs.
I really agree w your last sentence here. Bend but don't break. Even if you can allow them to settle for 3s you win in that situation. Stop w the big plays w 1v1 coverage
For FUN. Let's breakdown a way for the Jets to win: 1. Control the Clock: Keep Peyton Manning off the field. 2. Play good Red Zone Defense. Peyton will move the ball with ease. Hold the Broncos to Field Goals. 3. Geno needs to make a couple splash or big plays. The Jets will need to score. 4. Get a couple turnovers. Peyton can throw interceptions, so have to take advantage. 5. Take some chances. Go for it on the occasional 4th and 1 or 2. 6. Score first. The Jets keep getting behind quickly. Can't happen if they want to defeat the Broncos. Anything else?
Wouldn't they all conflict with each other? It seems like not praying at all is much safer. But, I digress . . .
I don't understand the 9 point spread. Honestly that's the only reason I have any optimism for this game. Vegas isn't stupid, there's something up here. I have absolutely no idea what it is, but somethings up. The only thing I can think of is an inside report of Peyton being dinged, but that's unlikely.
Ivory must be used as the feature back and CJ should be used as an occasional screen guy. Decker has to be healthy and Amaro must be integrated into the game. Milliner must continue to play well and our Cbs must exceed expectations. No more penalties or terrible clock management. Broncos must go into this game thinking it's an easy win. This one's a given, but trap games are made in situations exactly like this. We'll likely win if Peyton mentally relives his MetLife experience from the Super Bowl. PTSD, anyone?
If I am the Jets I am receiving the ball, no doubt about it. Dont kick it off to Manning, give it to Geno.
Essentially yes, technically no. Its a 1 oclock game so its not going to cover the entire nation but its going to be viewed more than any other game in the United States on that timeslot. http://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2014&wk=6 Interestingly though, Simms and Nantz wont be there, they wont be calling a game next Sunday. (TNF catching up to them perhaps?)
Decker needs to go off, Im not a fan of his but this is against his old team, the same team that is basically saying Sanders is an upgrade, in the same building where he was a no-show in the Super Bowl. This probably is his most motivating game of the season. 100+ yard game please !?!
You are putting to much into last weeks game, the Jets lose to the Lions, Packers, Bears all by 8 or less. Its a home game which is a good 3 points, so 8 points is fair. Denvers 0-1 on the road to, ya never know, they could end up struggling on the road? who knows.
