That limit does not exist. I mean they're going to be an aggressive D as well. Our O-line will probably not hold up, and as much as screens are ticky-tack in my opinion...Darnold actually throws a nice screen. Remember Sanchez' screens? Jesus.
Well the "hunch" is also partially based on the fact that we won last year....and that was when they had their star RB, and our team had less talent. So......not just a hunch, let's call it an educated hunch.
Sam can't turn the ball over. We can't have fumbles that the Jags recover. If we have good ball security we can play with the Jags.
Yeah, it's impossible to predict. The Jets usually do the opposite of what most think. It really is a crap shoot at this point.
Dude's got a party reputation.... "Reds" being Marlboro Reds. The Ritz is one of the more popular bars in Jax Beach
That is asking a lot. Sam has interceptions in every game so far. Anderson has fumbled in the last 2 games. This Jets offense will definitely make some mistakes. The Jets Defense needs to step up and cause some turnovers for them to hang around. I think they can, but it will be tough.
I haven't checked the Vegas odds, but the Jets have had a habit of beating or playing a tough game against teams they're a heavy underdog to. I know he's had a few good games against the Pats, but overall, Bortles doesn't been impressive in his 4+ year career. If, and it's a big if, the Jets play mistake free football, I could see them pulling it off.
Bortles will do his part to keep Jets in game, no way they lose by more than 8 points. Against a legitimate top 5 QB I would say yes. I said it already these teams resemble each other a lot. Jags are average against the run, but stout against the pass. Jets can run the ball, but are not a good passing team right now. Jets 24-Jags 17 The emotional roller coaster will be in full swing!
Jags Dline is really good, their secondary very good. So far, their D has averaged only giving up 14 points a game, best in the league. Though, Giants, Patriots and Titans all have had their own problems on offense. Can Darnold escape this game without a turnover? We absolutely need a Bortles bad game and or something fluky (remember Powell's "no touch" TD run last year?) to get out of Duval County with a win. With my Gang Green glasses on: Jets 17, Jags 14
The Bowels supporters will come out in droves should the Jets win this game,,,,,my guess is they might need a larger rock to hide under after this game. If Bortles plays well I give us zero shot if he plays shoddy we have a punchers chance,,,,,my biggest concern is getting Darnold out of this game un injured and with his confidence relatively intact !!!!!
Of course he is this week . Need to see a turnover-less game from Sam. O-line protection needs to obv. improve as well. Cannot afford to see him continue to just roll up and find Powell or Enunwa over the middle. Get Kearse involved more. Robby too, but he's not doing himself any favors with the fumbles.
Fournette is definitely a boost to their offense but it wouldn't be the difference between us wining or losing. This game will be all about field position and giving Sam 3 seconds to throw the ball. Starting out on our own 11, 9 , 5 or 1 yard line like we have for two weeks straight will continue to doom this offense. Allowing free runners at Sam will up the Int's and possibly lead to an injury. We need our defense to be able to flip the field and give Sam and company some breathing room. I feel we will be able to run the ball decently against this front as they will be frothing at the mouth to get after Sam. We need to take some shots down the field to loosen the defense and move the FS out of the box to open up the underneath zone beater wr routes. Sam has payed "1" bad game so far and that was on a short week. I want to see this kid bounce back and have one of those signature games that remind us why he was drafted 3rd overall. I don't expect perfection but it better be a hell of a lot better than last week.
We all know how this season will go - win a few games, just enough for the coaching staff to be retained and to take us out of contention for any top tier OL or pass rush prospects in the draft and we will then draft another bad DB or underwhelming DL player - I swear being a Jets fan is the football equivalent of groundhog day
