Anybody blaming Smith for this game so far doesn't know a thing about football. He's done what all you critics asked him to do - be a game manager, don't turn the ball over, let the running game and defense win the game. Well, the defense has been hot garbage in this game, the running game has been non-existent after the first drive, the offensive line (Giacomini in particular ) has been awful, and the WRs can't catch . So you and others calling for Vick are idiots. Watch the whole game please. You'll be amazed to learn that there are 45 other players out there that also have a job to do.
It it cost the Jets nothing. But the vaunted defense lets the Lions march right down the field 90 yards converting one long 3rd down after another taking all the momentum away, but this game is Smith's fault. Brilliant observation.
You gotta believe there's a chance our defense stops them enought times for the offense to score at least 10..(it's 24-17 as I'm typing this). You have to belieeeeeve
It's not all Smith's fault but the offense needs a shakeup and the only way to do it in game is basically the QB spot. If we had Simms on the bench i'd say stick with Geno but Vick is a guy who can come in and make plays. You can just as easily go back to Geno next week. Geno clearly doesnt have it today. He's wild with his passes, feeling pressure in the pocket. This is what a good veteran backup is for IMO. Especially with a young QB.
nope - as ever they will make a close game of it so we can all feel even more frustrated by how we could/should have won the game than if it was a crushing defeat you just had to write off - this team/franchise is destined to always be mediocre - SOJ

why does this franchise never suck hard enough at the right times - every time I see Andrew Luck I think what I wouldn't give for the Jets to just once have a QB like that - someone you can look to build a team around and that gives you some hope and something to look forward to - never happened once in the near 30 years I have followed this crappy excuse for a franchise
I have followed this team for 30 years next year - point to a time when they have ever been a consistently good team during that time. I'll wait.
