I don't really think the Jets will win this weekend, the 49ers might be the best team in the league still, and loosing Revis hurts no question. I am mostly optimistic that the Jets can put together a very solid season since we have a number of games we have every chance at winning, including Seahawks, Bills, Dolphins, both Patriots games, Colts, Rams, Cardinals, Titans, Chargers, Jaguars. I have a hard time seeing us take the 49ers, and am thinking the Texans outmatch us as well. but I don't see how this is a lost season, I still think we have a legitimate shot at the division title. I mean just look at this list of games the Jets SHOULD win even without Revis: Colts, Titans, Jaguars, Rams, that's 6 wins total, and I am confident we can squeeze out 3 more games from the mess of Patriots, Patriots, Bills, Dolphins, Seahawks, Cardinals, Chargers. 9-7 gets you in more years than not.
This is an interesting post. You claim to be a Giants fan, yet the Giants also play in New Jersey, so most Giants fans wouldn't bring that up at all. Looks like we have another faker on our hands. Stupid mistake, fella.
I see this question all the time, I have no idea why nobody understands it... so follow the logic. if everyone in the NFL is moving to a high-flying passing attack, what will every defense evolve to defend? High flying passing attacks. Smaller, faster front sevens capable of keeping pace with the high-speed passing game of the GB's, NE's, NO's and ATL's. So then what happens when a team comes in that wants to pound the rock instead of throw it? The smaller faster defenders aren't built to take on the bigger more physical offense. So then that offense can move the ball up and down the field on the ground. As a result, every offense begins to realize the ground game can be successful, and they flow back in that direction. Causing the defenses to make adjustments and fluctuate back in the other direction. This is how the game evolves back and forth. Right now the NFL has evolved into a passing attack, and a team that can really be physical on both sides of the ball can dominate those defenses. Unfortunately for us, we don't have an elite running game like we did in 09. If we can add in some new big fatties next year, and a quality RB, we can be back on track to being that team. For those wondering, in my eyes, the closest team to that right now is the San Francisco 49ers. They are exceptionally good at what they do.
I also had my suspicions, seeing he was posting a lot on this board when the Giants Thursday night game against the panthers were going on.
I agree with you that the Jets need to develop their receivers. But if the Jets want to win now, then they need a guy with experience that can step up and play right away until Hill is ready. Bringing in T.O or Plax wouldn't hurt IMO.
