Rex should say that in every pre-game press conference. That's great.

Oh, the defense that has given up 400 yards and 30 points a game? That defense only seems to feast on McDonalds.

The easiest way to neutralize our defensive line is to spread the field and utilize the 3 step drop. Buffalo basically rendered our defensive line useless with this strategy.

Our defensive line is great (we roll about 8 deep), but in order for us to get pressure the DBs and LBs actually have to do their job. They didn't yesterday, and everyone here knows the result.

To the poster that commented on Campbell and turnovers. Last year that was definitely a problem, but so far this year he's been much better. I was really impressed with him stepping up in the pocket and making throws, which was something he never did last year.

If you guys can contain McFadden, it'll be a long day for us.

Our offensive line is improved from last year, so I'm excited to see how they hold up against your defensive front.

Better than ours too...Our DT's are good, but once you bounce it outside we suck. Don't play dumb, you know the Raiders D-Line presents more of a challenge than Jax.

He hasn't thrown a pick this season yet. Granted it's only been two games but he's been really smart with the ball. He played the same way the latter of last season so I wouldn't really look for turnovers to come from him. A tipped or batted ball for a pick is more likely.

Overall I think we have two turnovers total. So far so good...

As for the commentary on the d-line, our guys are good it's just that everyone else behind them sucks. Any 0-coordinator worth his salt should be able to take advantage of that. Short and short-intermediate throws absolutely kills our defense because we almost exclusively play man coverage. Therefore if you send three wideouts down the field and keep your TE and RB in there's no one to cover them if you can protect for 2-3 seconds. Of course it's the LB's job to do that but as far as I can tell we don't have any linebackers that actually play in games.

Do you even watch football? Jacksonville has a very good Defensive line. Knighton and Alualu are a great DT combo.

Yeah I dont understand keeping a team in Jax any longer that is an obvious failed experiment.... Theyre the most irrelevant team in the league and I dont think its very close

I live in SoCal. Ingersoll comes from the last name of Robert Ingersoll, a relatively unknown but highly influential American writer and speaker.

    But thanks for asking. :)

This season I hope the Jets go for it much more often on 4th and short. Ya gotta believe we can execute in that situation.

My 2 keys to the Oakland game: consistent, solid tackling from the Jets' defense and Sanchez not throwing any INTs w/o compromising the willingness to attack.

    Let's go three and oh!

    5 Keys to beat Oakland

    1) Weather the Special Teams Storm(Usually we can win the battle of field position due to Westoff's smarts but this time its going to take a lot more than smarts to win the special teams field position battle. Seabastian Janikowski and Shane Lechler are the best kicker and punter combo in the NFL and with Janikowski now booting with these new rules in place, there is almost zero chance Cromartie could even get to take one out or in the endzone on a kick return. Lechler is going to challenge the rookie Kerley into making him decide to fair catch the ball inside the 10 or not because Lechler has a great tendency to have spin on his ball and often get punts inside the 5 and really hurt an offense)

    2) Start the running game(Its going to be no easy feat to do it vs a D-Line filled with guys like Richard Seymour and Tommy Kelly and McClain constantly playing behind them in run support but its going to have to happen now. Fast Feet Freddie Jackson dictated the Bills game with his yards on the ground and we are going to need either Shonn Greene or Joe McKnight to do the same. LT just doesn't have it in anymore when running from behind the line, I would give him 1 or 2 snaps at most at this point. I don't think the Jets can run it up the gut on the Raiders D but will more so need to try and run on the left or right with McKnight to achieve success. Raiders while their D is physically quick, don't necessarily react fast and the LB core have tendencies to be in wrong spots.)

    3) Watch out on Colin Baxter (What is going to hurt trying to establish a running game is to run behind Colin Baxter and not Nick Mangold as this game has. This is why its going to be so important for John Connor and Greene to pick up dialed blitzes and likewise to GET SANCHEZ OUT OF THE POCKET and throwing on the run! I don't think this is a game where Mark can afford to just stand in the pocket and just pick and read, he's not going to be getting a whole lot of comfort ,especially from the right side due to Wayne Hunter going to have some troubles against Kamerion Wimbley and likewise Baxter may get pushed to the floor by the heavy and experienced Tommy Kelly so Sanchez is going to feel pressure on the middle. Sanchez is going to be often throwing on the run left so having someone like Mason as a checkdown option, Keller in the middle of the field and PLAXICO(Not Holmes) on the left side near the sidelines has to happen to see the offense move the chains. If I am Bill Callahan, this week I am testing Sanchez AND Baxter to get proper snaps with one another in a noisy environment as that is what its going to be come Sunday in Oakland's debut. Would not shock me to see a botched snap and potential turnover for the Raiders to pounce on. Very underrated aspect that needs to be issued!)

    4) Be weary of the Raiders WR speed (Give guys like Moore, DHB, Ford credit.....they may not be the best route runners or have the surest of hands but god dang they are fast when running on the sidelines. But that is the problem with the 3 of them outside of Ford every now and then, they hug the sidelines and anticipate strikes down the field and try and break away with their speed for a deep gain. That's just not going to work on Revis/Cromartie. What will matter is if Kevin Boss is healthy enough to suit up and play for Oakland as he becomes an instant down the middle threat. Letting go of Zack Miller to Seattle is going to hurt the Raiders in the sense as he was a surefire option down the middle to make those 3rd and 6 completions and not be weary of taking a licking soon after. Boss can do the same but does not have the same ability to separate from a defender.

Oakland barring Louis Murphy returning or Derek Hagan getting into the game, will be in trouble and will have to see their young WRs be ready to take shots down the middle and anticipate being tackled which is a trait young WR's never anticipate.)

    5) Keep control of the Jets blitzes on Jason Campbell (Giving Campbell his due, he has looked pretty good these past 2 games, albeit against the Broncos and Bills D. But what has impressed me the most through these two games is the Raiders O-Line ability to pick up the blitzes and their protection for both the running and passing downs. You'd think that with Tom Cable gone that this would have gone to the shits but thus far the Raiders O-Line has been very good, even keeping the Bills without a single sack on the field. However, when I say keep control of the Jets amount of blitzes on Campbell, I would be weary on throwing too many of these and expecting that Campbell will get flustered like he has in the past. Under Hue Jackson, Campbell has developed stability within an offensive scheme and has in return stood tall and delivered passes. Likewise he is not a terrible athlete and will run if given a chance, unlike what we have seen in Tony Romo and Luke McCown)

I don't see Michael Bush being a large threat since he focuses upon power running like MJD did last week and he was held under check for the most part. The lone fear on Bush is he has a knack to convert 3rd and 2 or 2nd and 1 or any related short yard pickup down. McFadden is going to get his numbers, he is just playing excellent right now and is an MVP candidate(Tom Brady is No.1 obviously) but I fear him more so as a dangerous weapon used in a RB screen or in a hitch on the sidelines since he has crazy acceleration. I don't think he will be doing much on the ground from the backfield but Hue Jackson would be silly to limit McFadden to doing only that.

I expect a tight one but I am worried the Raiders could win this in a tight game. I don't think Schotty will really translate and play up against the Raiders deficiencies and will continue to try and prove a point by pushing Greene to run it down the middle, which is what Oakland ultimately wants on 1st and 2nd down. It really depends on their injuries coming into Sunday. East coast teams do not travel well out West as well. The one saving grace is if the Jets can go back to being their disciplined selves like in Week 1 because Oakland has a poor tendency to constantly shoot themselves with penalties. Do not be surprised if guys like Bart Scott try and get in the heads of some of the Raiders O-Lineman and have them commit a foolish personal foul of some sorts, they are very undisciplined in this sense. Could prove to be huge.

Yeah I am not in love with your safeties. Tyvon Branch is a liability on making tackles and stopping a 10+ yard run and if put on Keller, is going to get dragged for additional yardage. Great speed though and if he ever gets fooled, he has the comeback speed to at least test the throw and catch so he isn't that bad from what I have seen on passing plays due to his speed.

Not a fan of Michael Huff though. Good run stopping safety but on poor spots during passing plays. Looks often lost and this hasn't changed much since he was drafted. Can't imagine him doing well if he's matched up with Keller, who has looked real good thus far in these 1st 2 games. Raiders will finally be playing against a very good TE unlike with what Denver and Buffalo presented to you, I am very curious how the Raiders D reacts.

Don't be too down on your D, you are imposing a pretty lousy offensive coordinator often times in Brian Schottenheimer. He makes plenty of Jets fans heads scratch with poor calls. He isn't too aggressive and will settle for a 2 yard running play on 3rd and long to lean on the Jets D to save his bacon. Very rarely does he allow Sanchez to take shots down the field and he will be so hellbent(Probably with Rex's consent) to prove to the fans and NFL that the Jets are a ground and pound group this week that it could hurt the Jets trying to force Greene up into the middle. Every now and then though Schotty calls a near flawless game, like he kind of did vs the Jaguars.

Its not the LT of old, he's been a very good player in short passing plays but he doesn't have the burst anymore running from the backfield but yeah...you are right that he used to KILL the Raiders for 170+ yards on the ground. Maybe he can give a good outing once again but I hold reservation unless its done on a Sanchez pass.

MJD had a good ruuning game going against us before Mcown showed why he was never starting material,I hope Mcfadden will not be as succesfull as MJD since they are different type of backs but still this game worries me, Oakland have significantly improved but Campbell is not the type of QB that would give this D a hard game thats why I think we will come away with a W...

I still remember his Grossman like picks when he had played very well up to that point....

We won't lose this game, we can't. There will be no complacency especially with Mangold being hurt. If we were to lose this we might be 2-3 in the blink of an eye...that's why we won't.
